Q: Hi ShortPixel, I've bought a code in the previous offer, and 2 more codes with this new deal.
I'm always been happy with the image optimization part, and primarily bought this for the CDN. Some questions here (even though I've read the FAQs but still figuring out):
1. Should I install both SPIO and SPAI? It looks like SPIO optimizes the images, while SPAI resizes images based on device (e.g. iphone) viewing. Shouldn't I use both then?
2. CDN - I was under the impression that CDN is being used for ALL the images on the site? But using Inspect, it appears that only images that are larger than their container are served up by CDN? Is this right? Can ALL the images on each webpage be served by your CDN instead?
3. Lazy loading - I read that I should deactivate lazy loading plugins. I use BJ Lazy Load which does a great job. Does turning off lazy loading slow down my page load? I noticed only some (not all, point #2) images are served by your CDN when I turned lazy loading off. But when it's on, it appears to be served by my server instead.
4. Is this compatible with all page builders - i.e. Thrive Architect, Brizy etc?
Again, the primary reason for using ShortPixel is speed of page loads. So 1) Image Optimization and 2) CDN is very attractive to me.
Thanks,
Ray

May 14, 2024A: Hey Ray,
thank you for your previous¤t purchases first of all! :-)
Also thank you for your questions, we added them & their answers to our FAQ
1) no, you generally only need one plugin and usually we recommend SPAI
2) SPAI optimizes and serves from CDN all the images it can find on a web page. This includes images taken from a third party website (e.g. Pinterest, Instagram). Please note though that in some circumstances, some images (e.g. images served from IFRAMEs) won't be processed.
3) ShortPixel Adaptive Images (SPAI) uses its own lazy load functionality to be able to serve scaled images depending on the user's viewport. Having lazy load active in another theme/plugin conflicts with ShortPixel and that's why for SPAI to properly work you need to make sure you turn it off elsewhere.
4) We extensively tested SPAI with all the major page builders and it works fine. Anyway, considering the great number of both page builders but also of different other plugins and possible interactions we cannot guarantee that it will work out of the box in each case. Thus we recommend you to test SPAI with your own environment and carefully check for any possible conflicts. If you notice anything not working well then please deactivate SPAI and contact us letting us know about the specifics of your configuration so we can assist you.

Thanks Alex. Your responses here is very helpful. I do have 1 last issue that I’m facing.
It turns out you’re right. I tested the SPAI (the CDN) on 2 sites. 1 of them worked pretty well - all images served by the CDN. My blogposts had a fairly normal layout and the images were picked up.
On another site though, I had pages with columns, containers etc, with images and text being in them. And majority of these images were not served up by your CDN but my host. Does this refer to your comment about iframes? If this is a known issue will this be resolved, as it’s critical for me?
I was using Thrive Architect on both sites, just that the way I was displaying the content is different. Let me know if this should be followed up somewhere on this technical issue.
I really want to love using ShortPixel SPAI + CDN and appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Ray
