LTD Promises, Premium Lockout Con Artists
Bought the Qolaba AppSumo LTD. The deal sold lifetime access plus all future Individual / Organization plan updates, including mapping if the plan name changes. That is still on the deal page.
Qolaba later added a separate Premium Credits system and moved many newer models off the included monthly LTD credits (including models such as Grok 4.5 and Gemini 3.8). Discord support defended it like this:
“We replace older models with newer versions wherever appropriate, so LTD users continue to benefit from an evolving model library… The intention has never been to stop LTD users from getting access to newer models.”
“The distinction is with a limited set of new Premium models and features that have high ongoing costs… your original LTD benefits remain intact.”
“That’s why we chose a separate Premium Credit system: to keep the original LTD allocation intact while sustainably supporting these newer capabilities.”
That answer is not right on the representations that sold this deal.
1) Founder team, Annapurna_Qolaba, 15 Jul 2025, when asked whether LTD buyers would be stuck while new models went to other customers:
“When we add new models, they’ll be available to all eligible plans.”

A Premium-only bucket for many latest models is not “available to all eligible plans” on the credits we bought.
2) Co-founder Samarth, 3 Jun 2025:
“LTD users are on the same cloud instance and credit system as our regular subscribers — no separate infrastructure or limitations.”

A second Premium credit system that LTD monthly credits cannot spend on locked models is a separate limitation. Saying the old allocation is “intact” while the models that matter now sit behind a new currency is wordplay, not the deal.
3) AppSumo itself, 24 Nov 2025, after an earlier limit scare:
“no features are changing for AppSumo lifetime deal users” and “Your LTD access will remain exactly as originally offered, with no new restrictions.”
Premium Credits that cut LTD off from many current models is a new restriction.
Support says they considered burning more LTD credits or forcing a recurring sub, then chose Premium Credits for “sustainability.” Cost pressure does not rewrite what was sold. Keeping the old credit number while moving the valuable models into a paid add-on is still locking LTD buyers out of plan updates they were promised.
This is worse than the Writingmate catalog-cutoff pattern because Qolaba’s own team and AppSumo already answered the exact fear in writing: same credit system, no separate limitations, new models on eligible plans, no new restrictions. Premium Credits contradicts those statements.
What would fix it: put current models, including the ones now labeled Premium, back onto the included LTD monthly credits under the sold tiers, or give an AppSumo-backed remedy that matches “exactly as originally offered.” Sustainability talk after the refund window is not consent.
