So far so good, but with a few glaring issues
I thought this platform seemed really interesting, and could be really beneficial. Its been easy to set up and it seems to work as advertised, however I've encountered a few challenges as I've tested this system that make me hesitant to deploy this professionally at this time.
I'll start with the good:
Its very easy to set up. Some serious thought went in to the usability of this app, and it is well designed, and built. I realize this will only get better with time, but as a UX designer I have been impressed. I think the data visualizations are really nice, and I'm interested to see what sorts of reports we will be able to generate going forward.
Now the Bad:
The single most frustrating issue (and this may be due to a browser-compatibility issue [I'm using FireFox Mac]) but whenever I manually type text in to any of the fields in the the UI, all of my spaces between each word are removed, forcing me to manually go back through and properly space my words. Formatting is retained if I copy/paste, however, so I've used that as a work around.
The other frustrating issue has to do with the English translations. All of the auto-generated system emails that I have seen are full of translation errors and don't read correctly. This goes for emails that are sent to candidates too like the "You have moved forward..." email. I haven't figured out a way to edit these messages. That being said, I absolutely could not use this product professionally due to this issue alone.
Let me preface this first part by saying I may have missed something along the way, but when I tested the assessments, I deployed a QPage assessment template. When I took the test as a recruit the assessment had the wrong colors (not the brand colors I set earlier), and most of the QPage-provided questions are again worded poorly, are confusing to read, and don't make a lot of sense. The templates are also limited in scope to office and tech worker positions.
When configuring your career page you can only select from a pre-set number of illustrations with no ability to add your own image. The illustrations are fun and friendly, however, they all feature white people, mostly men, in an office or tech-like setting. They aren't inclusive of other races or professions giving the entirely wrong impression in my situation.
The system sends its own messages which I can't seem to edit, or find anywhere in the dashboard, in addition to the messages I've already assigned. The system messages don't show up anywhere in the Recruitment Preferences pipeline which caught me by surprise when they started popping up in my inbox, resulting in a lot of emails to the recruit's inbox.
Additionally the Career page is severely limited in how it can be "branded." It would be nice to see Google Fonts integration in the future, along with the ability to remove the QPage logo on all communications.
I'm excited to see this platform grow, but the issues above make me less inclined to deploy right now.
