I'll try to write the review I would want to read, so here it goes:

First I'll state my background and or reason to look for a QR-code: as an agency we always (and I mean it) have this situation when we have to bridge offline and online. Some clients are more than happy to just write down their homepage and that's it. But every now and then you need to link to a very specific sub-page or an address loaded with parameters. When this happens, you need to get a QR-code in place.

Now on the second paragraph I'll tell one or another anecdote to set the bar for the tool I need/want. We tested multiple online tools and they were either limited (we couldn't add logo or change certain details here and there) or clunky. By clunky I mean they created more problems than they solved, and this ranges from how they bill to other technical limitations that sometimes left us in the dark in the worst moment possible.

And finally we reach our third act, where I will simply write down how QR.io tops all QR-code tools we used in the past. So here it goes: it just works! And you are able to make the changes you need or want whenever. No plot twists, no mindf&%$.
