Brand = product or company logo you want on your ad. NOT the facebook or linkedin format of the ad you will download and publish.
Explaining with an example. So, say your company is called Nike (congratulations on making it big!) then you will upload your company's logo. This make it 1 brand. Now, you make Air Jordan ads (a type of Nike shoe) for FB, linkedin, ..... any of the 30 formats, use any number of templates, make as many ads as you like, you are still only consuming 1 brand (out of say 25 you have with you). If you add Reebok as your next client, then only you use the 2nd brand slot. Hope this clarifies!
