May 15, 2024A: Hey Teycir,
Yes we saw that. Many significant differences:
a) It's still being rolled out and even after a year of beta being rolled out as still beta and that to US customers only" We announced generative AI features in Performance Max at Google Marketing Live earlier this year and today we are starting to roll them out as a beta to all customers in the US"
b) Customers who have tried quickads say - I need ads for all formats (and not just Google formats) esp. Meta, X, Etsy, etc.
c) Difference between a photo editing app vs. social media posts vs. an ad - "I don't need an image background swap. There are 100s of free apps which can do that. What I needed and quickads does is be able to put design elements that emphasize the image, a headline and a sub-headline in the creative". Can the google product in beta do all this? We have spent so much time listening to customers that they dont want their message to be in captions, they want their key heading in their brand colours up their along with text and in all formats
Also, try for yourself there is a reason perhaps things are in beta with most image creative creation tools. From what customers have shared examples of as well when they resize it to different formats (called outpainting technically) with free tools like Google one it breaks things when the tool tries to imagine picture outside of the borders, can show up unwanted stuff and worst of all if you dont like it then you have to restart the process and will get totally different designs. So, you have no control over it. And, btw how will the image maintain your brand guidelines eg: logo location isn't obvious from their page.
Everyone has a right to choose between a product in beta with no text in the imagery, unclear if imagery can expand to different sizes, not available at all outside US and not generate ads for other platforms OR you can choose quickads and get things done!. Just some perspectives and of course we have a bias :)
