The plugin shows an error "Your copy of Reading Indicator plugin is not activated" with a button "Activate Now". After clicking the button, I just get the same message, but without the button.

Good news: the Reading Indicator plugin does not require any activation at all. There are no limits by domain, functionality, or license – it should work right after you install and activate the plugin in WordPress.

A: Thanks for your question! 🙂 On the frontend the plugin only loads a very small JavaScript file — 3.32 KB with no extra dependencies. You can see it here: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/56601080?key=9dc6f0fe6366c81dc56cec10f62b0a6f
The file is loaded at the very end of the page (before </body>), so it doesn’t block rendering and doesn’t affect PSI scores.
