To clarify, both plugins, Reading Indicator and Reading Progress Bar for WordPress, serve the same purpose. They are developed by our team at 42Theme. However, Reading Time is a different plugin with a distinct codebase. It's optimized for the Envato market infrastructure, has a different licensing model, and comes with separate support conditions (including 6 months of included support). Although these plugins are crafted by the same hands and perform similar functions, they are separate products.

Regarding the lack of recent updates, we appreciate your understanding. Our team is based in Ukraine, and unfortunately, we faced significant challenges due to the war that began in our country three months after the release of the plugin. Without dwelling on the difficulties, we kindly ask for your understanding, as the past two years have been exceptionally challenging for us. If you have time and inspiration, you can test them all.
The difference between our products is that they are developed not by amateurs or students, but by professionals. The code is stable and well-documented. The functionality is simple, but it works in all modern browsers, as well as on mobile devices.
If we talk about the key advantage of the Reading Indicator - in my opinion, these are zero dependencies. Native JavaScript, without jQuery. Only 3,4 KiB compressed JS. This is very good for SEO. One of the key indicators is site speed.
In any case, I'm not trying to persuade you or say that all other plugins are junk. I show the main differences, the final decision is up to you.

Yes, the plugin will automatically receive updates when new versions are released.

According to licenses and activation, you need a separate license for each site. But in the plugin, we do not put any restrictions or bindings on the domain. Therefore, you will not have any problems with developer/staging/local site copies of one project. However, we ask you to purchase a new license for each individual project. Although we do not check it in any way. It's up to you :) We do not block the plugin's functionality with activation keys and do not bind to a domain. We believe this is not the right approach.
