Love the platform & love the support
OK first of all,
I bought this software about 2 weeks ago, so when writing this review, I already have plenty of experience either with the software or with the team behind it.
The good:
+ love the idea: yes this is truly needed if you run like a SaaS platform. It is much easier to understand the user's problem if we just let them record their screen and let us see it firsthand. This is what's missing with the like of loom etc... Previously we have to ask user to create a loom account & record their screen. It adds such a friction to ask user to create a new account, that some people just record it using their phone camera :{ Now... this is no longer a problem with RecRam. They don't have to sign up for anything, just use our link and record
+ multiple updates: screen recording wasn't included when this LTD launched. Now they already include it + a few more updates. Hoping the founder will continue updating it to make it even better
+ Simple: love the simplicity. But after talking with the founder, I can see that behind the scene, they already prepare powerful features that will be launched soon
+ Support: The team behind it is very responsive to my queries. I've reached them thru email, and thru their chat widget. And they responded within 24 hours. Some of my suggestions are being implemented as well, love to see team that are listening to their users.
The not so good:
- There are some rough edges -- no doubt, this platform is still not perfect. There are some features missing, like a button to share the video / delete video. But nothing that's a deal breaker in my opinion. And that's why i give it 4 tacos

Tool seems ok but support is missed
I tested it and it did some jobs I needed but what worries me is almost non-existent support and a solo founder. With all deals going down lately I refunded it. It's too risky these days and if there is no support that just shows it won't go further. I've been burnt by AppSumo deals many times lately and there is nothing good to keep a tool where a response time is 0!

I believe there may have been a misunderstanding. At RecRam, one of our top priorities is support quality and response time.

Not quite there...
So first of all, I do wanna say I absolutely love the idea of the software. It's probably the only reason why I'm not asking for a refund now.
The largest issue is lack of documentation, as well as lack of support. I had a video that wasn't uploading during form creation, and I still have not heard from support. Since I shot that video on my desktop, I had an idea this morning and realized that the video was just too big. It was 150 MB. But nothing told me that.
The other issue I seem to be having is when creating forms there is no way to actually edit a branch based on decision. Once the branch is created, you actually have to delete the corresponding form capture and re-create it to re-branch it if you messed up.
The UI need some love. I love the simplicity. Don't get me wrong. But tool tips things like that. Seem to compress if there's long text. There's a lot more issues that I can discuss. But again the concept of the software and the fact when you actually get the form right, it works pretty well is gonna make me keep it a little bit longer and if they fix some things, I'll change this review.

Since the platform is form-based, uncompressed videos can cause upload issues. We’ll be releasing an update to address this. Uploaded videos will be automatically compressed on our servers before being added to the form.
You’re absolutely right about the lack of documentation. We’re working on onboarding videos and tooltips for every step. As a small team, we need some time to finalize API, webhook documentation, and product improvements. Support is one of our top priorities.

Great Support, Clean Interface, Great Start
I can’t say enough good things about my initial experiences with both RecRam and the team behind it. From the start, Nebi and Emrah went out of their way to understand what I was trying to accomplish—despite the 12-hour time difference, they took the time to walk me through features on a live video call and really helped me see how the platform could work for my needs.
I got Tier 4 access because I was looking for something that could bridge the gap between full customer discovery interviews and impersonal surveys. RecRam seems like the perfect fit for that, and I’m excited to see how my students will be able to use it for their projects, too (I teach entrepreneurship, and my students and I will be testing this approach together). I think this tool has a lot of potential versatility with the basic components (form creation, video capture, magnets, data training, AI analysis, etc.). You can probably imagine (use GPT for brainstorming) additional use cases where having lots of more personalized, higher-touch video feedback (preliminarily analyzed) would do wonders for you (think: YouTube content feedback, workshop evaluation feedback, customer service experience feedback, etc.)
Most importantly, here's a tool that’s backed by a team that genuinely cares (and they care about the education space). If you do join me in giving it a try, please share your feedback in The Sauce to suggest more ways to use this tool.
