Immature

I am a One-Man-Show. A freelance consultant. I am really not a designer. I have some very basic skills with Photoshop but mostly I "design" business presentations.

So I thought: "wow, that tool looks amazing". I was looking forward and wanted it to work. Because the idea is PHANTASTIC.

But sadly, it is yet an immature product.

The usability is not really intuitive for me and is has some issues, for example:

Magic Import does not really work. It only grabs a few images. Sadly you can't really edit after import.

AppSumo promoted included free images that are, in reality, just imported from unsplash - so this no real benefit.

There is no way to safe your work so if you want to recreate some visuals, you have to somehow browse through all styles and color-combinations again. This is really frustrating.

Even though this tool does not really help me right now, I will probably keep it. Because when those issues would be fixed, this was a hell of a product.

Hmmmm.

The second one taco review along the lines of "not ready for real users" or "immature?"

1. We have over 10,000 users that use RelayThat on a daily basis so I'm not really sure how to respond to this beyond recommending that you take a look at relaythat.com/reviews

2. I believe that usability and value is subjective depending on the user. We're not selling a one size fits all t-shirt here.

3a. We built the Magic Import feature to try to help users import their assets faster. It's not supposed to be the ONLY solution we offer to get started. Did you take the tutorial or use any of the Presets?

There are plenty of ways to build a brand in RelayThat. Just because it doesn't work on every possible combination of website (or maybe has some room for improvement) doesn't mean others aren't getting a lot of use out of it.

3b. Can't edit after import? I'm not sure what this means? The entire system is configurable with the exception of a few key design elements that we restrict to maintain our resizing integrity.

4. We offer plenty of free images in addition to Unsplash and leverage many of the largest image databases in the world. The alternative is to go to every site and do independent searches, download them one-by one, upload them into our app, and THEN start using them. No real benefit? I'm not sure what your expectation were here, but I would disagree.

5. No way to save your work? There's a HUGE teal button next to the download button that says "SAVE." On top of that, every Workspace saves all your assets in real time and stores the most versatile and automated way to design thousands (and update) of images with every click.

I'm genuinely confused why users blast out the worst rating possible when they clearly don't understand the product nor have really taken the time to explore it.

Sure, RelayThat might have a learning curve for some users but many pick it up immediately.

I don't think it reflects on the proven value that thousands of users are enjoying.

Riding a bike and riding on a rocket are two different things.

We're building an amazing design rocket here and you're welcome to join the ride if you want.
