Not everyone has access to professional audio equipment. Fortunately, there are tools such as ReMasterMedia that can help improve audio post-production.

I am a professional language teacher and online course developer. We record a fair amount of audio and video productions using either a camera or smartphone.

Audacity is a wonderful free app that has served as well. Although we have the audio improvement steps nailed down, it does take considerable time and effort to get the result we want. For example, the noise reduction steps are as follows

- Look for such a section of 'noise' often represented by small sections without significant waves, and select/highlight it
- Go to Effect > Noise Removal. The Noise Removal dialog will appear.
- Click “Get Noise Profile.” This will prompt Audacity to capture and analyze the section you selected.
- Back in the waveform view of the track, click anywhere, then press CTRL + A to select/highlight the entire track.
- Go to Effect > Noise Removal again. Then, tick “Remove” before pressing “OK”.
- Back to the waveform view of the track, the sections edited will now have become thinner, which means noise has been reduced.

The above steps are just for noise reduction. Other improvements require a similar number of steps which means more our time is taken away from creating content.

We've tested a number of videos which had barely audible audio. After selecting from different enhancement profiles and noise-canceling options, we found the exact broadcast quality sound we were looking for. The results were fantastic.

The main point is that, we achieved quality mastered audio in a fraction of the time and effort we used to spend using Audacity. We're not looking back. This app is now firmly part of our overall production process.
