Absolutely unreliable
We did a remo event and it was a complete disaster. 100 people and the host wasn't able to join the stage (randoms were able to join the stage) had to quickly change to zoom. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this product if you want to have any respect left from your audience.

Jan 23, 2025Hi Sumoling,
I am sorry to hear about your event experience. We have an average of 100 live events per day and no one has reported any issues. I would love to get to the bottom of this with you if you are willing. Please reach out to support@remo.co so that my team and I can investigate what happened. This is extremely alarming behavior that no other customer has reported to us.
Best,
Hoyin

Nervous
I tried it, it's so beautiful and really wanted to purchase it. But there was no serious assurance from either events.com or the Remo management themselves about the future of Remo. Also, nobody from Remo management is commenting on users concerns about its future. If events.com can come back themselves to issue LTD's for Remo in the future, I would be happy to reconsider.

Jan 23, 2025Hi Abigail,
I personally addressed all sumolings in the webinar (something that I never did even for our regular customers) and answered all concerns. I know that it has been a crazy year and many apps have not honored their commitments but we are looking to bring a host of services from Events.com to Remo customers and the Appsumo community is crucial for us to continue to innovate for many business use cases. We have gone over and beyond for the Appsumo community and hope that you will reciprocate.
Thanks,
Hoyin

I like it but concerned about the future
Overall, the product is good and useful and makes a nice change from Zoom. I like the speed at which you can move from one table to another. I do find that there are too many overly zealous marketing messages here and there (even when the system sends email invites from your business, they contain endorsements for remo as an amazing product!) We should be able to remove this (and still be able to send system messages). The big free trial link in an attendee's menu is also a bit annoying, as are the messages to wrap up conversations when certain times are up (these should be editable).
The biggest issue is the future of the LTD given the acquisition by Events.com. I think Remo have tried to allay concerns by holding the webinar for Appsumo customers, but it would be good to have something coming from the new owners - the CEO or somebody else with authority there. I have a couple more weeks until my refund period is up and still don't know what to do!
Final point - I wanted to trial the white labelling, but it seems this is not an option and there is no flexibility for either a refund (say within a few days if it doesn't achieve what you expected) or a trial followed by billing. There were quite a few comments on white labelling, so I really would have liked to see how it works for us and what improvements had been made before committing.
Edited the tacos to 2 following the Founder's response. Clearly they have not done their best to allay fears about the acquisition - only events.com can do that and you seem to not want to invlove them!

Jan 20, 2025Hi Sumoling,
Thank you for reviewing Remo. We have done our best to alleviate any concerns regarding the merger. As for the Whitelabel, we do not have a free trial option. You can review our help articles or watch our detailed demo videos. All future improvements to the Whitelabel option will also be available to you.
Thanks,
Hoyin.

NERVOUS (!!): REMO now bought up by Events.com
UPDATE after watching the Webinar Hoyin and Abi gave:
First: I appreciate you making the effort to do a webinar like this, specifically to your AppSumo base. That is really great. I did watch the whole video. Overall, it has not changed my nervousness, though. Probably for two main reasons:
(1) I purchased Remo T3 for running online events with our "Working with Street Children" global community, because all Remo's focus was on just that: running online events. Now your excitement to 'partner' with Events.com and get more into in-person and hybrid events, just is a dilution / distraction from what I need from Remo. So, it may be good for you, and for broadening your customer base, and for possibly making more profit/income as Remo, but it isn't of interest to me and my use case (and I guess that this is true for many AppSumolings who purchased Remo). I would want Remo to just improve the online event space (your strength).
(2) Still, despite lots of answers, the overarching feeling is: it is just too early to really know what is going to happen.
So, again: thank you for recording that webinar, and for your intent to do good to us AppSumo-lings. But still nervous for the intermediate / long-term.
Wishing you well!
Meindert

Here are my thoughts on the likelihood of Remo continuing to honor its original features and terms, to AppSumo LTD buyers, longer-term:
Commitment to Lifetime Deals:
The message explicitly states that Events.com is committed to honoring lifetime deals. While this is reassuring, such statements can sometimes be subject to reinterpretation in the long term, especially when "updates" to terms and conditions are mentioned.
Team Continuity:
The promise that the current Remo team is transitioning to Events.com is a positive sign. Retaining the same engineering and support teams may mean the product won't lose its core identity immediately. However, teams may be reassigned or reduced over time as the acquiring company integrates its own systems and processes.
Expanded Product Possibilities:
Mergers may lead to new features and integrations, which could enhance the tool. However, this might also shift the focus toward Events.com's broader goals, potentially diluting Remo’s unique features or user experience.
Future Terms and Data Policies:
The reference to updating terms and data storage policies warrants attention. Such updates might introduce limitations or changes in how the product operates, especially for lifetime deal holders.
Common Patterns:
Acquisitions can lead to the "death" of the original product or significant changes. This aligns with a common pattern in the tech industry, where acquired products sometimes lose their niche appeal as they are rebranded or merged into a broader offering.
What Should You Do?
Assess Your Current Needs: If Remo fulfills a critical need for you now, it might be worth sticking with it. However, if you anticipate needing a reliable tool long-term and have concerns about its stability, consider seeking alternatives.
Likelihood of Original Features Being Retained
From the language of the announcement, the likelihood of significant changes increases over time. While the immediate future might hold stability (e.g., honoring lifetime deals and retaining the team), mid- to long-term changes are probable as Events.com aligns Remo with its broader goals.
Seeking a refund might be a prudent choice.
ADDITION:
What About Events.com’s History?
Events.com’s track record with acquisitions shows a pattern of integrating acquired tools into its broader platform. This often results in:
Rebranding or repurposing features to align with their ecosystem.
Prioritizing large-scale or enterprise users over smaller, niche markets.
Possible discontinuation of standalone products.
If these patterns hold, there’s a real risk that Remo will not retain its original identity or focus.

Jan 13, 2025Hi Meindert,
I see that you have Chatgpted the whole analysis when in reality, there is no need to panic. We have joined forces with a company that shares our vision. Events.com needed a virtual platform and Remo wanted to cater to Hybrid and Physical Events. The acquisition is a plus for everyone involved. I took time to answer all of these questions and more during the webinar. I have shared a recording link below:

Please take the time to watch it and then if you feel like it, update your review to reflect the same.
Thanks,
Hoyin

No single click to join
I got this for webinar.
Just realised there is limitations per floor that means if I buy a 300 attendees plan, there is a restriction per floor that is less than 300.
There is no click to join link even after registration. User would have to complete the user name/or select as Guest to join with a new link.
We need a simple single click to join for the participants.

Jan 13, 2025Hi Noah,
Thank you for taking the time to review Remo. May I ask you to share an example of a click-to-join experience? All users need to be validated at some level or at the very least enter their display name for the meeting. Zoom or Teams functions the same way. Also, the "login as a guest" option is not a new link. It is the same link with an option enabled by the host to not require signing in or validation. Please reach out to support@remo.co to understand the options further and use them to suit your exact requirements.
Best,
Hoyin
