Good for Webinars and Online Networking
As a Plus member, I have to be careful not to jump on every deal as my credit card is not happy with me right now. When I saw this was available as an early deal for Plus members, I was intrigued but not sure I could justify it given that I already have GoBunch and Cosmos Video. (BTW, I love BOTH those platforms for different reasons and I use both regularly.)
My thinking in getting Remo is that it appeared to be built for online networking events, and I have several use cases for this. Tier 2 was not a huge investment so I bit the bullet and have taken a tour of this product. WOW! This is a very polished product and definitely gives GoBrunch and Cosmos a run for their money. I am glad I purchased Remo and will definitely add it to my arsenal.
A few main differences: Cosmos is built for coworking and persistent, all day long hanging out without restrictions. It is NOT built for webinars or networking events, although I have used it for an online game night for a small number of guests.
GoBrunch can be used for both events and persistent coworking but the main downside is that you can't have private areas in the same "floor" like Cosmos and Remo. Thus, it's not really the best for an online networking event, though you could go and create a number of rooms yourself, it's not all in one place visually in GoBrunch like it is with Remo.
Remo is built for an online networking event where you can have main speakers and people can talk in a small group in a a "table" all available from the same "floor." It looks great and I particularly liked the layout with the pool.
Everything is polished and professional. You can create a virtual business card for yourself. You can also have free or paid events.
A few downsides - no perpetual coworking rooms, which would be a great add-on. Stripe integration involves contacting support and they say you can't use an account that already has a connection so you need to create yet another Stripe account (I have a zillion). Customizing rooms involves SVG files and is thus not quite as accessible as GoBrunch.
I think a few more bells and whistles would be nice, like the online group gaming that Cosmos Video includes with their "game tables."
My main concern with Remo is that their non-AppSumo base price is so high they are pricing themselves out of the market and I would like this company to last a long time. Their starter price is $380/month with 200 guests. That's a bit insane. I think if Remo wants to last they need a cheaper starter price for small businesses with maybe 50 guests and no more than $100/month. I mean, sure, do enterprise stuff for Microsoft but remember that small businesses don't have those big budgets.
I'm thinking of upgrading to Tier 3 but it's a big jump from Tier 2 and they are only on here for a week. So we'll see.

May 9, 2024Hi Sumoling,
Thank you for the wonderful review and your amazing constructive feedback. We have been getting requests to allow smaller always open spaces for coworking and we are looking at all possible options. You can expect an answer directly to your inbox by May 15th. As for the pricing aspect, I understand it is difficult for small businesses to consider us and we will surely work on this in the upcoming months.
Happy Hosting!
Thanks,
Hoyin
