Q: Hi Guys, Been looking for tools to help clients with their data capturing and analysing.
Been looking at Airtable until I found Retable. Just a couple of questions.
1- Does the form have the capability of logic questions and reference-related table data? ie If a selection is made, open up other questions etc. also if a location is selected in the form, all the relevant data from that location can be pre-filled from the table?
2- Can the table data integrate with dashboarding tools like Google Data Studio or PowerBI? As this is most important for the data we will be capturing.
3- Does the automation trigger work based on conditions? ie if new record is created and "value" is > 100, then send email to .....
4. Are any output options via the platform or other integrations? ie if an incident report is logged into system, create a pdf form of the information submitted. (Currently using cognito forms for the method)
Thanks
Ben

It's nice to see you there. š Let me help you with your questions.
1) Since Retable's online forms are created from the columns in your spreadsheets, conditional questions are not allowed now, but with the help of the "if function" we will add to our online forms, it will be possible to ask conditional questions.
I'm not sure I understand the question you want to ask about the locations, but if a location is selected in the form, the full address of this location will be automatically answered. However, if you have saved another location-related data in a different Retable table and you want this data to appear in your table when the relevant location is selected, it is possible to do this with our reference & lookup columns. But I think I can answer this question better if we can talk about the exact case. š
2) Retable has integrations with Zapier and Make.com. It's also possible to use our API to integrate Retable with other tools.
Check these related links;
š Zapier: https://zapier.com/apps/discord/integrations/retable
š Make.com: https://www.make.com/en/integrations/retable
š API:https://docs.retable.io/retable-user-guide/retable-api/api
3) Yes! Our automation trigger can work based on conditions.
4) Retable allows you to export your data as CSV without any integration but we're also working on other exporting options like PDF.
Hope it helps Ben! š

Hi Thanks for response.
In terms of use case for 1/
I work in the security industry and want to collate all incidents out in the field from security officers. Which will create a master table of data, and they will submit a form to collate the data into the table. My questions were around the efficiency in completing the incident form.
There will be 2 tables - 1= Locations information (will have lots of fields relating to that location) 2 = incidents from locations (Relationship with table 1) (all the fields relating to any incidents)
a) When form is completed I presume that the user only has to select the location name and the look up can complete all the relevant data for that location rather than completing every field each time. (Address, manager, location type etc...)
b) If logic on questions like airtable is if the question for the incident table is a drop down with various type of incident, there maybe other fields to complete as a result of this selection so these would appear. If not just move onto the next question on the form.
The PDF would be useful as clients would like an "Incident form" pdf on certain record types. Any integrations you are aware of in mean time?
Hope that makes sense.
Ben
Hey Ben!
I am answering the second step of your questions here. šš»
You will create 2 tables and 1 form directly connected to one of these tables.
šš» Table 1) Locations: Includes all info about locations
šš» Table 2) Incidents from locations: This table will include all form responses sent via the form.
You should create a "Reference column" in your Table 2 and give reference to Table 1 (locations table), and you should select the "location name" column to give reference.
Then, when you create the form, when the location is selected for the "Location Name" question, all information about the relevant location will be automatically reflected in the table (Table 2) where the form responses are located. To achieve this, it will be sufficient to add Look-up for the information you want to see in Table 2.
š I have recorded a quick video for you with some dummy data. Hope it helps! https://clipchamp.com/watch/Zje41heWyD0
PS: We are not able to provide PDF export yet, but we will have it on our roadmap! Currently, only CSV export is possible.
Also, if it's okay for you you can join our Discord community for a quick call about your use case. I can show you everything and answer all your questions better :)

I am impressed about the quality level of your answers!

Are planning to make the Export to PDF to work on selected rows also as an option?
