Far from usable for me
I tried working with Retable for a couple of hours, trying to transfer an Excel table into a Retable sheet. I ran into so many issues that eventually I gave up. A list of some of the issues I ran into:
- Mysterious errors when trying to import XLSX files ("Server error", et al.)
- Only one header row, no grouping of colums. Therefore, when there are many columns (I have 72 in that table), and some are supposed to be hidden, it cannot be done (columns can only be hidden one by one - I'd need to click 60 times to see only the 12 I'm interested in ...)
- No scripting
- No links - You cannot just click on a URL in a cell to open a site, nor link documents to cells
- Data validation: by RegEx only. Great flexibility, but difficult. No presets for emails or URLs etc. Very limited info in the docs, no list of examples.
- Very simplistic conditional formatting (nothing like "date is greater than", e.g.)
- Only two languages, English and Turkish
- Very limited date/time formats, not for my country
- Cannot navigate with cursor keys
- Keyboard shortcuts cannot be changed - no good way to avoid conflicts with other programs
- Geolocation only by coordinates, not by address fields
Retable seems to be under heavy development, so I'm sure some of these issues will be addressed someday. Just currently no fit for my needs.
