Thank you!!!
This is the most confident I have felt in my choice after purchasing any software, ever. And I have, unfortunately, tried A LOT of software...all promising to be "the one", all became another unchecked box on my do to list "find time to learn the thing that finds you time".
This is not that. Within 10 minutes of playing around, I feel up to speed and I can manipulate my data wonderfully.
When I started my business, it had been years since I even used a computer regularly. So I learned excel again (poorly). I paid monthly to build a plug and play ecommerce site. I repeatedly hit walls with data management -- tracking deliveries, client info, driver days off. Yes, I had jotted down credit card info on the back of envelope and wound up shipping my product for free because I was too embarrassed to admit I had shredded the information before using it. (Yes, that was this week).
For every problem, came 10 solutions, usually at a monthly fee. I couldn't get my business partner to use the tool or the tools wouldn't talk to each other or embed on our website. If all that worked, it didn't sync with excel or social or our calendar. "You can do that, just buy this tool!"
Fine. I had the thing that made the first thing talk to the second thing. But it didn't talk to the third. I bought an "all in one" software. Nope. Try another - fails. Meanwhile my site is being redone -- 2 years and... a big nope. Get a $20, 000 quote from someone else, that's a no. Consider going to go to school for software development... no time.
Why can't my data have its home that everything else visits? Why can't that home be clean and easy to understand??
I left school in 2009 and excel looked about the same then. Forget a () and your doomed, but when used right, it's a necessary evil. All these new tools (airtable, notion etc) control your data and conceal any means of production from the user, thus marrying you to enough SAAS products to warrant a move to Utah.
Retable doesn't make any sweeping promises it can't keep. It just does the thing that it does REALLY well and the thing that it does is at the core of everything else. Having my data in one visually impactful location is huge. Not being overwhelmed by onboarding, also huge. Thank you, Retable. The map feature is so clutch. All of it. Simply great.
Now that I can find client's phone numbers easily, it's back to changing the world! (As soon as I find my socks... )
