Q: Hi, this sounds interesting but I'm trying to understand the market - what other tools are leading this ...
industry (or, what other tools Rize is an alternative to), and how are you different?
thanks!

May 15, 2024A: Rize is definitely a pioneer product in many ways but the class of products we're most comparable to is personal time trackers. The most established product in this space is RescueTime.
At its core, Rize works similarly to most time trackers (e.g. RescueTime) in that in automatically tracks and categorizes the time you spend on different apps and websites. However, while products like RescueTime are primarily passive time trackers, Rize dives deeper into analyzing your productivity and enables you to build better work habits.
Our timeline view depicts how your day unfolded and the exact time spans of the day you were focused, in meetings, taking breaks. You can drill down into specific blocks of focus time to see how much you were context switching and which apps or websites were most distracting. Our Session Timer always you to start Focus Sessions with music that helps you focus or start Breaks with guided meditation. Rize will also help you build better work habits by notifying you when to take a break and when you’ve reached a certain number of hours worked.
Those are biggest differences at a high level but there are a few smaller ones too. Rize provides an improved dashboard over other products like RescueTime as well as more granular categorization rules and customization.
Let me know if there's anything I can expand on or clarify.
