Great First Impression, But Needs More Refinement

I was excited to see Rollout being compared to Bolt in the description. In my opinion, Bolt is a true revolution in software development due to its absolute ease of use and how well it gets the job done. The only downside is the cost, which I hoped to solve with Rollout.

It’s true that Rollout has just been launched and still has a long way to go to match Bolt, but let’s give it a chance. If AppSumo trusts you again, so will I.

For now, I chose Tier 2 to fully test Rollout. I hope its evolution impresses me enough to upgrade to Tier 3.

If you don’t mind, I’ll detail my first impressions and areas for improvement:

I was pleasantly surprised by how easily it can build a complete website with just a simple prompt, and also by its ability to copy content from an existing website. It generates a lot of content and delivers a modern design.
However, issues arise when you start editing the result:

Unlike Bolt, communication in Rollout is one-directional. Sometimes it’s very useful to interact on a topic before making design changes to avoid breaking things.
I haven’t been able to get the Undo button to work. Sometimes things don’t turn out as expected, and being able to revert to a previous state without breaking anything else is crucial. But when this happens, the only option seems to be refreshing the page and hoping for the best.
Occasionally, Rollout makes unintended changes that weren’t requested, causing the loss of about 30 minutes of modifications. It feels similar to when you’ve been chatting with ChatGPT for too long and it starts forgetting the conversation.
My main goal is to develop PWAs with bottom navigation menus like native apps. Rollout does this, but fine-tuning the details takes a lot of time. Having a personal library of reusable components for different projects would be a fantastic addition.
Related to this, it would also be useful to clone a project instead of having to use the same prompt and hope it resembles the original.
I’ve seen that database connectivity is already planned—this will be amazing!
I’d love to use custom fonts as well as specific icon libraries. I’m not sure if this is currently possible.
Do you plan to support additional programming languages like Bolt? Creating with React is great, but it requires extra compilation work.
Overall, Rollout provides an excellent first impression, with remarkable results from the initial prompt. But as you dive deeper into a project and try to make significant modifications, the experience starts to fade a bit.

That said, I still think Rollout is a great project. I trust that you won’t neglect the Sumolings and that you’ll strive to maintain proper and updated communication about its progress.
