4 days in...Pros & Cons...
I am a huge fan of RTILA and have been using it for the past four days, both as a scraper and a frontend bot. Let me provide a summary of my experience, including the pros and cons.
Here are the issues I have encountered:
1. The app occasionally crashes when left open for an extended period (on MacOS).
2. The spinning wheel remains on the page even after saving project configurations.
3. Headings are not exported in Google Sheets.
4. I faced problems with the inspector and dataset functionality. Sometimes, selecting something as simple as an H1 tag wouldn't yield any results. I had to delete the dataset and start over to get things working.
5. The exported data appears correct in the preview, but the resulting CSV file is missing crucial information.
6. The documentation and videos are outdated.
7. It takes approximately 24 hours to receive a response, which is acceptable. However, it can be frustrating when you're in the middle of a project and need prompt assistance because of bugs / missing documentation.
8. You cannot run a project from the automation/inspection window, which would be a helpful tool when troubleshooting
9. Many commands have unintuitive names, requiring extra digging to find what you're looking for
On the positive side, here are the advantages I have experienced:
1. RTILA enables me to perform tasks that other automation tools cannot handle, such as cPanel account procurement, cPanel customer ID scraping, and cPanel account storage space scraping.
2. The documentation has been helpful at times
3. New videos are being released, indicating ongoing support and development (love the new chatGPT potential)
4. Mohamed, the developer, has been very responsive and helpful. He resolved one of my issues and even offered to log into my site if needed.
5. When the software functions correctly, it is truly a game changer
Initially, I purchased RTILA but had to refund it due to the issues I encountered. However, I decided to give it another chance and recently repurchased it. I am grateful that I did, as I believe it has potential. I look forward to seeing it evolve into a solid 5 taco tool in the near future.
I would like to express my gratitude to Mohamed for creating this wonderful software. If there is any way I can assist you, please don't hesitate to let me know. :) - Scott
RTILA
May 9, 2024Dear member
Thank you for your genuine review.
First, I would like to thank you for your good words but myself (Mohamed) I am not the developer, I am just the delivery boy :-) It is Tarik genius brain that developed this solution with great contributions from Roberto. Then Honore and Saleh joined our tech team more recently.
Maybe if you had used RTILA for 5 Days we would have had a chance to get 5 tacos :-) Please see comments on how we are addressing the shortcomings you have highlighted
1. The app occasionally crashes when left open for an extended period (on MacOS).
>>> We have been having some issues for Mac OS but this will be solved in next release in few days as we just obtained Apple Develop certification.
2. The spinning wheel remains on the page even after saving project configurations.
>>> Will be solved in next release in few days.
3. Headings are not exported in Google Sheets.
>>> For this feature it is better to use our Google Sheets template here: https://rtila.com/downloads/?_s=read+write+sheets
4. I faced problems with the inspector and dataset functionality. Sometimes, selecting something as simple as an H1 tag wouldn't yield any results. I had to delete the dataset and start over to get things working.
>>> We are enhancing the selector tool but depending the html source structure this or any similar tool is not technically able to catch 100% of the elements, we advise you use some free inspection tools we covered here: https://youtu.be/PwXhJ3XYkiU
5. The exported data appears correct in the preview, but the resulting CSV file is missing crucial information.
>>> This is un-usual, if you can please submit a ticket with some screenshot/recording we can solve this ASAP
6. The documentation and videos are outdated.
>>> We have reduced this gap as you can see in our new documentation section with 100+ articles here: https://rtila.com/docs and as we go we are adding and re-doing our video tutorials.
7. It takes approximately 24 hours to receive a response, which is acceptable. However, it can be frustrating when you're in the middle of a project and need prompt assistance because of bugs / missing documentation.
>>> We have started a Beta service for live technical assistance for a fee. Please submit a ticket and we can invite you to this new service.
8. You cannot run a project from the automation/inspection window, which would be a helpful tool when troubleshooting
>>> That is correct, not all our commands are able to RUN inside the automation panel due to some architecture issue but we are aware of this and will be making more and more commands runnable inside the panel soon.
9. Many commands have unintuitive names, requiring extra digging to find what you're looking for
>>> We have just updated this part and in our next releases all commands will have more text guidance but also you can already find a documentation entry for each command in our docs section with explanations and screenshots
