I have been working with automation and scraping tools for around 20 years. Sometimes I coded my own, at early times with C++, later on python, PHP...

For commercial software, I have been using a ton of tools, I could name a ton of them: WebHarvy, Web Content Extractor (newprosoft), scrapebox, WinAutomation, UBot...

You can figure I have spent thousands on licenses, plugins, maintenance, distribution tokens...

I found RTILA the best desktop scraping tool by far. The price is a real bargain.

If you never had to do a scraping, the process need a small learning curve. Not because the tool, it's just because to scrape a site sometimes is very easy, and sometimes could be more complicated.

No other tool has RTILA features for the price. You own a multiplatform tool, and you are free to use it to scrape as much as you can. Some saas tools could charge you 300$ for 30k records, but you can achieve those numbers in one day (just don't be too much aggressive scraping, be gentle).

You will be using a sandboxed real browser while scraping, based on chromium. The targeted site will see a "real user" navigating.

The automation actions are quite powerful, you can configure almost every detail, change the user agent, clear cookies, set timings, fill forms, clicking, scrolling, use variables, loops.

The project is configurable, define how many instances, tabs, proxies, timeouts.. whatever you need will be there.

For many projects the default settings are perfectly fine.

You can get alerts or get the results by email, FTP, csv/excel, HTML, JSON, Google Sheets or webhooks.

Don't be focused on the initial appearance, this is not a toy at all.

I have build around 400 projects with this tool, probably 50 were for clients. The results are insane, the core engine of RTILA is very well coded.

The mac and Linux versions are less tested, probably there are less users with those.

I usually go with the windows version, I run one on my computer to create the projects and a second one in my VPS.

Of course you can use proxies, or captcha solvers. You can install chrome extensions on the project, for example an ads blocker or some free vpn.

The projects can be scheduled, it has their own scheduler. They can be executed from command line if you need.

The inspector module is very complete, you could be intimidated a bit. There is no need of coding/programing on the 90% of the projects, but in case you need, all can be done with JavaScript.

For the selectors, it's point and click. Just define the elements you want to grab and give them a name.

This is a real gem, being honest, I recovered my investment on the first week after purchase this. Usually I do scraping and automation services.

Now this software is my first choice, you can get scraping projects in no time. My biggest project was to scrape 130k pages.

Many features to comment but this review don't let me write more... you can get an idea about how much I love this tool.
