Q: I have a magento 2 store.

My questions are do you have
1. Virtual categories: you use rules to assign products to categories automatically based on certain attributes
2. I have already have automatic product recommendation module already for my website. So can I disable the product recommendation module in searchable?

3. Do you provide both filtering (faceted navigation) and sorting for magento 2? If yes do I need to disable that from other modules?
4. What search engine are you using?

Hi,

Thank you for your questions.

>>> 1. Virtual categories: you use rules to assign products to categories automatically based on certain attributes

Searchanise doesn't change product settings and doesn't assign products to categories.

>>> 2. I have already have automatic product recommendation module already for my website. So can I disable the product recommendation module in searchable?

It depends on what you mean. If this recommendation module affects how products are shown in the search results, it most probably won't work with our solution.

If the recommendation module is a separate widget, it should keep working fine.

We will be glad to look into your question further if it is needed. Please message us at feedback@searchanise, send us the URL of your store, and specify what functionality in it you mean.

>>>3. Do you provide both filtering (faceted navigation) and sorting for magento 2? If yes do I need to disable that from other modules?

Yes, we provide both for all the supported platforms, including Magento 2. DIsabling the existing functionality for this might not be required as it should get fully replaced automatically. However, it is not possible to use the default or added by other third party apps filters or sorting in combination with the ones from Searchanise.

It is possible to not use the Searchanise filters and sorting on the search results page while using the Instant search widget (search bar dropdown) to generate the results themselves and suggestions, though.

>>> 4. What search engine are you using?

We are using Sphynx. You can find more information and links to additional details about it here: https://docs.searchanise.io/how-our-search-works/

Hope it will be useful. Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions if they arise, I will be glad to answer them!
