The update frequency can vary, depending on different variables (bugs / new features / changes in web/WordPress), but with that said, it's usually around 2-4 weeks for each update cycle.

The themes work great with Podcast.co. You don't have to use any of the plugins shipped with the themes, they are all optional. For example, you can choose to only work with the "Podcast Importer" plugin if you just want to most basic feature of importing all your current and future episodes from Podcast.co

Obviously some plugins are more important than others, but even if you use all the recommended ones, it shouldn't affect the site too much, you can see how fast our demos run at the moment.
