Secure Your WordPress Website

Q: Hi, fellow AppSumo lovers!

I'm so excited to have an AppSumo offer of my own, after taking advantage of other great offers over the past few years.

My name is Stacy Clements, and I'm the owner of Milepost 42, a tech partner for small businesses who want someone else to "deal with the web stuff". Before starting my business, I spent 23 years in the United States Air Force, working in communications, cyber operations, and project management. I was called "the fixer, the problem solver, and the pitbull", so now I focus on fixing WordPress sites, solving technical problems for small business owners, and relentlessly promoting cybersecurity practices.

One of the things I've discovered over the past several years working with small businesses is that often security is an afterthought. They either don't know what to do, or don't think it's important - and this attitude often carries over to their websites. Maybe they install a security plugin and call it good...and then wonder why the website "got hacked anyway."

Security plugins are great and can be a useful part of a security plan, but securing a WordPress site requires more than a plugin. I've spoken on this topic several times, and decided having a short ebook with the pertinent information from the talks could be useful as well.

Of course, there's no getting around the fact that security comes with a cost (in time and money), so how much do you really need? Well, it depends on your risk. As a bonus, this ebook includes a walkthrough on how to do an information security risk assessment for your business, and how to prioritize what to fix first.

It's a short ebook and a pretty quick read - but I hope it gives you a new way to think about how to help keep your website (and your business) secure.
