Yes, it is possible. We have a dedicated tool for that, called Image to 3D. It will transform any 2D image into a 3D object. There are, of course, options allowing you to customize the final shape.
As for the second question, there are two options: you can either use SelfCAD in the browser (you launch the application from our website) or download the desktop application.
When it comes to the desktop application comes in two versions. One of them allows you to store your projects locally on your hard drive (local storage), while the second one stores everything on the cloud. Here's the link: https://www.selfcad.com/download-for-pc
