Q: Why can't we delete shops?

I bought tier 1, created a shop to see how easy it was and got a better understanding of how this works, how useful it's going to be, and how intuitive it seems to be -- all without needing any help. Yet now see I can't delete the trial shop. That's 20% of my account gone right there.

Second is I want to add a manager and it says I can't because the person's not registered on your website. Yet not only are there are no instructions on how to do this (when I search for 'managers' in the help, there's nothing -- kinda important functionality, you'd think) but there's zero guidance on what to do... I login to 'your' site and am taken to my dashboard.

I read in the reviews there's lots of potential with Sellix, but I've gotta be honest, 90-minutes into this and I'm not feeling the luv that others are.

A: Hi 100661203843030541494,

While you aren’t able to delete shops yourself, you’ll have to contact us and we’ll process the deletion within 60 days. We’ve worked to simplify our invitation process for managers as much as possible, which meant a help article wouldn’t be needed. However, we’ll work on a help article so that it clarifies anything that isn’t otherwise noted.

If you’re a new customer, you should go through the introduction/guided tour. You’re able to go through the tour again by tapping the “i” on the navbar next to the notifications icon.

Thanks,
Daniele

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

Re: managers, it should be simple (enter email address, tick some permissions boxes, and then click on Add), but the functionality doesn't work. It keeps telling me the user's not registered on Sellix and they need to be. However, I go to Sellix-dot-io and get taken back to my own dashboard, and round and round it goes.

I logout and then go to your site and try and register this manager and see that I can only register if I add their own Sellix shop...

So, I'm a manager in someone else's shop, and I don't want my own shop as I have no products/nothing to sell, and neither do I want your marketing or other emails, but I have to do this to be a manager in someone else's shop. I'll be honest, I don't like this functionality.

Nevertheless, because of the above problems, I look for a support article: yes, I admit, the process does appear to be simple and straightforward, right up 'till it doesn't work. (Long-time software person and developer here), so I go looking to see what I'm doing wrong BEFORE I escalate it to support.

If the manager has to be registered on Sellix first, before they can be added as a manager, then why doesn't it say that on the add 'Manager' page :

"Hey, managers can only be added if they've got their own Sellix account, so don't waste time trying to do it if they haven't registered yet."

It's not rocket science, is it? It'll also save a lot of hassles (3 back-and-fores with support on this now).

However, because there's no article in your 'help' about this, and there are no instructions, it's a bug, right? What else can it be?

If it's a bug it needs escalating.

I then contact support, tell them what I'm doing, and then get told the exact same thing: enter email address, add to Sellix, etc....

It's poor functionality.
