Q: I've had some real problems with the login procedure.
There are a few people I had planned to share this with. However, they don't use Gmail or Outlook, and have corporate and work email addresses.
One was somewhat distressed when I said it had to be Gmail because they didn't even know what their login is and never used it. Others felt it was too much hassle to set up a new email address just to log into a piece of software.
Believe it or not, there are many out there who don't use those emails, so do you have plans to make it easier for all to log in without being forced down the Microsoft or Gmail route?
Of course, it is clear that they won't be able to link calendars, however that is their choice, and if they just want to log in and use the functionality without the additional syncing of data, it would be useful if they could make that choice themselves, rather than being excluded from using SellMeThisPen.
With all the back and forth just trying to get someone logged in, we've actually not even gotten around to using the actual software yet, and they are less than impressed, which does not give a good impression on what by all accounts is a great piece of software.
I have seen others here mention the same thing, so I know we are not the only ones who have faced or raised this issue with you.
Software and technology in and of itself can be an issue and barrier to entry for some, so anything to make that easier and reduce additional or unnecessary hurdles is always useful.
Can you confirm whether you have plans to make this option available, or if you will just continue to say it isn't a problem?
Frustrated users don't make happy clients and so I don't want to upset anyone else by making them jump through hoops to log in.

May 15, 2024A: Thanks again for sharing your feedback! I've replied back to your email regarding this issue, and including my response here as well in case other Sumo-lings have a similar concern 🙏
The reason why we only support Google and Microsoft login at the moment is because we have 4 core functionalities to our platform, 2 of which (real-time and CRM updates) require calendar integrations. Currently we only integrate with Google calendar and Outlook and that influenced the decision to only support those 2 providers for login. Adding our own login option will require us to build a separate flow for integrating with calendars, separate onboarding flow, separate logic for cases when no calendar was connected, etc etc. It's of course all possible and it is part of our long-term roadmap to provide flexible login options, but it's a way bigger project than just adding a new login option considering the way out platform is currently built, and it's something we can't prioritize immediately.
While I totally understand it cases you inconvenience, we mentioned on our activation page that we only support Google and Microsoft login right now to set the right expectations. That being said, we will consider adding more login options in the future, but as I explained it's just not a quick fix.
I really appreciate your understanding and patience! 💛
