In my honest assessment of Selzy, I find it to be a highly promising platform with the potential for a bright future. However, for this potential to be fully realized, there is a significant issue that needs to be addressed.
When it comes to conducting an email marketing campaign, the paramount concern is ensuring that all your leads receive your messages. To test and familiarize myself with the tool, I purchased a plan that allowed for 5 thousand contacts. I set up the same conditions as my account on ActiveCampaign, including identical levels of email verification and domain authentication.
I initiated a campaign targeting 4,126 leads.
On ActiveCampaign, I achieved an impressive delivery rate of 99.64% and an opening rate of 29%.
Conversely, on Selzy, I experienced a delivery rate of only 70% and an opening rate of 19%.
While I acknowledge that opening rates can naturally vary, the substantial discrepancy in delivery rates between the two platforms caught me off guard.
I understand that some might suggest the option of purchasing a dedicated IP to enhance delivery, but as users, we prefer not to have to acquire additional features to address what should be a standard delivery performance.
A potential solution that could be implemented is to include a dedicated IP as part of the offering and charge an additional fee for this service. In the realm of email marketing platforms, robust delivery capabilities are paramount.
I firmly believe that once this issue is rectified, Selzy has the potential to become an outstanding platform!
