No "$"!?
I should have left this review earlier. Several of my emails were not including the contacts name, only a "," that was to be after the name. This makes for a very poor and embarrassing email, especially when you have the contacts name in the system. After several back and forths with support, I found out it was "MY" problem! I was using a "$" (i.e. $39.99) in the body of my email and that makes it so that where I used {{Name}}, it will appear blank. I was told I need to write it out such as "39 dollars and 99 cents". Realy? This made the email look ridiculous. My fix was to leave the name off. Now I am using a system where I cannot include the subscrbers name or other collected information.
My second concern is that while testing this, I had to use my email address as a test in the campaign. In order to get me out of the campaign so I could start over, I was told to just delete my name and put it back in. Well, I did this 5 or 6 times thinking it was no big deal. Now, I put my name in a campaign (it is only in the system once now that I can see) and when the email comes out, I get it 5 or 6 times! I am assuming since they try to "remember" all the names that are put in, the sending area is reading off of that database and is sending it to all the deleted ones since it is now considered current. Sadly, before I just did my name, I think I may have deleted my database and re-added them, and now I have no idea if my contacts are receiving all the emails twice. I did reach out to two of them that I knew on a more personal level to find out niether of them got the emails!! There are no delivery reports to find this out?
Now I am very concerned... I do not know if my emails are being delivered. I do not know how many times they are being delivered if they are being delivered. And I have to decide if I would rather have the contacts name or a $ in the email as I cannot have both. Very strange that they "keep" all of your old contacts just to get more money from you. What a pain that must be, be like any other system and only count active contacts.
Yes, I did get this all to support, I only got a "we will look into this" reply and over a month later the only reply I recently got was an email saying they would like to help me with my campaigns and I should set up a call. I was excited, I filled in the notes section about the above problems and I wanted to discuss them and workarounds... I get may call this morning from a script reader doing a survey to help them find out who their users are to help them market the product! My comments were not even mentioned. When I told her what I expected the call to be about, she told me I should contact support... I hate bait and switch calls. As I told the caller, I would be more than happy to complete a survey if I was asked but when they had me book the call thinking it was about me to find out it was all about them, I ended the call and decided it was time for an honest review.
