App seems cool, easy to start up... I wanted to use this app as my email marketing solution for my ecommerce Shopify store. I'm so over, paying for apps that don't get the job done, are overly expensive, and most importantly, people who signup for emails yet never opens them - I thought SendFox would be my deal - it isn't.
I tried contacting SendFox (who replied right away) about integrations, this is what I got:
"Thanks for reaching out. :)
SendFox is not directly integrated with Shopify as we are focusing on content creators and not really the Ecommerce sites, so you will need to integrate with Zapier App or using API endpoints!
Additionally, you can integrate using POST HTML codes form our forms.
Hope this helps! :)"
So, I tried to figure it out (Zapier would've been the easiest but it cost $24.99 per month just to add emails to my sendfox account when ppl sign up on my website, whoomp whoooomp.) I created a new account in Shopify for a private app with API permissions and couldn't figure out how to marry the 2. I contacted Shopify for help connecting with API endpoints (they are the WORST so I wasn't expecting much):
"Megan (Support Advisor): I can look into this for you. Can I ask why you are using SendFox? We have Shopify Email marketing which allows you to run email marketing campaigns. Have you seen that?
23:21 ME: i've seen that. not interested. too many bad reviews, not enough experience.
23:22 Megan (Support Advisor): Okay. Let me look at the API endpoints, one moment.
23:22 ME: ok, thanks
23:43 Megan (Support Advisor): Okay, this isn't something we would normally support. You may find a Shopify Expert who could help you with this. Here is the link to the Experts site: https://expe/..."
She told me to hire someone to connect the 2. I feel like this is something easy to do, so I emailed SendFox again:
"Hey Candy,
As we're focused on content creators and bloggers, we don't have that many Shopify users, so we're not really familiar on how to integrate with the forms created on Shopify store using API endpoints.
That said, Shopify support should definitely know where to set up API endpoints in their store backend as this is located in their system, not ours.
Right now the best option would be to integrate through Zapier, Integromat, API Endpoints or embedding an HTML form to your Shopify website.
Hope this helps."
So, now I will try to google and YouTube my way into this or just ask for a refund.
Hopefully, this review helps someone who needs this information or gives someone an idea to create an email app for eCommerce stores that will integrate with Shopify (Mailchimp no longer likes Shopify, Klayvio is crap and expensive, the others are a complete joke with high price tags).

May 9, 2024Hey, brasscandy! Thanks so much for the 5-taco review. You = awesome.
Totally feel you on the expensiveness of Shopify email marketing solutions. Like you know, we're mostly focused on content creators — but that doesn't mean you can't use SendFox if you're an ecommerce store. I've advised a few ecommerce stores, so I know how expensive and annoying Mailchimp and Klaviyo can be. I feel you.
My suggestion would be to look into upwork.com or fiverr.com. No affiliation, but we've used both in the past for quick dev or design tasks — you might be able to find someone who can help you quickly.
And you also might like our sister product meetfam.com. It's designed specifically for Shopify, and you only pay a small percentage of revenue generated from FAM emails as the cost.
