Poor support, breaks my blog

Several weeks ago I wrote to SEO Booster, but got no answer.
It breaks my blog letters.

I’m experiencing a reproducible encoding issue caused by SEO Booster and wanted to report it.

When the plugin is active, German special characters are corrupted in post content.
Example:
• Correct input: „gießen“
• After saving / rendering with SEO Booster active: „gieÃen“

This happens even when the text is typed manually (no copy/paste).

What I’ve verified
• HTML meta charset is set correctly: <meta charset="UTF-8">
• HTTP response header is correct: text/html; charset=UTF-8
• Issue occurs across browsers (Safari, Chrome)
• Caching plugins disabled
• JavaScript disabled → issue still present
• As soon as SEO Booster is deactivated, the content displays correctly and remains stable

This strongly suggests a UTF-8 double-encoding or incorrect charset handling during content analysis or rewrite by the plugin.

Expected behavior

UTF-8 characters (ß, ä, ö, ü) should remain unchanged when the plugin processes content.

So no recommendation for the plugin.
It was updated 12 months before, says the WordPress plugin.
So it's no use without an update, and the money is gone. :(

Neat little tool, but it's a massive resource hog

I've been using SEO Booster for about three weeks now, and while it's a helpful tool, it adds about 400-500kb of bloat to your pages, which significantly slows them down. Because of this, I can't use all the features the plugin offers. Thankfully, I use Perfmatters on my site to selectively choose which scripts run and which don't. I was honestly surprised by how much weight it adds to pages—I don't recall seeing anything this resource-intensive in my 15 years in this field.

Thank you for the feedback, and you're absolutely right—previous versions of SEO Booster were loading unnecessary JavaScript libraries on every page load, which was a significant performance issue. We completely understand your frustration.

The good news is that version 7 (released today) was built from the ground up with performance in mind. We've completely redesigned how the plugin loads...

subtle powerhouse

seems like a simple straightforward subtle powerhouse.

Just one question (I apologize for my ignorance)...for "create links from keywords" and "Linking in category/tag descriptions, are these two part of the same action/tool?

Where is the "link"? Is it editing the meta data or editing the description.

Also, is this the same action/tool that is called "automatic linking" on your website here;
https://seoboosterpro.com/feature/automatic-linking/

I've tried to understand, but can't quite grasp what it actually happening.

Thank you.

Thank you so much for the kind words and the 5-taco review 🙏 We're thrilled you're seeing the power behind the plugin!

Great question — and you're absolutely right to ask. Yes, the "Create links from keywords" and "Linking in category/tag descriptions" are both part of the Automatic Linking system you saw on our website. They all work together.

The links are not stored directly in your...

Two Weeks Using the SEO Booster Plugin

After two weeks of using the SEO Booster plugin for WordPress, I am very satisfied. This plugin makes it easy to view data from Google Search Console, which is a significant advantage.

User-Friendliness:

The interface is clear and user-friendly, with useful filtering options. You can easily sort by page, clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position, and the last time a page was visited.

Insightful Data:

The clarity of the data allows me to quickly see which pages are performing well and where improvements are needed. The information on clicks and impressions helps me better understand how my website is doing.

Optimization Recommendations:

A valuable feature is the recommendations for keywords to use in blog articles for better ranking. It also indicates which keywords are used to find a page on Google, providing crucial data for optimization.

Continuous Learning:

I am glad that I have not yet exhausted all the features of this plugin and that there is still much to learn. Despite my satisfaction, I know there are more opportunities to improve my SEO strategy.

Conclusion:

In summary, after two weeks of use, the SEO Booster plugin makes analyzing my website easier and provides valuable insights. For anyone serious about search engine optimization, this plugin is highly recommended.
