I'm really disappointed in seo spyglass. One taco because the ui is so dos, they go back on their written agreement and change it, and their own staff does't know their own software (took 2 hours of trouble shooting).
First, it took 1 hour to setup, because AFTER installing JAVA, and then installing their software, the UI is so bad, that their instructions (install software, then go to help>>redemption info) don't at all match what you need to do because the menu is grey out so you cant click and when you search, nothing comes up in the menu. It took support 1 hour to figure out what was wrong and lots of closing software and re-opening.

Then - and this is the dishonest part - you sign up and they tell you what plan you get...but you don't. It says the following: "Export of ALL LINKS in csv". After another hour on support (we're at 2hours now) arguing that there's no link to download the links according the the screenshot the support sent me, and me sending my photo, suddenly the support person said he/she needed to talk to someone, and then after 20 min came back and said I didnt have the right on my plan to download ANY links. I promptly showed the LIST and PROOF that I did have the right only to receive this bit of news:

"Oh, that should be crossed out. Thank you so much, I"m going to change that now so it's crossed out."
I mean--whaaaaat? I wonder how many other appsumo's saw that and didn't get what was promised ON THE SIGNUP SCREEN with the pro plan!
It NEVER bodes well to see companies not stand behind their plans LISTED ON THEIR SITE and CONFIRMED AFTER SIGNUP and even more shocking to see them change it! Even if it was a mistake, it was written on the screen and I have the screenshot, they should honor it:

So I will be uninstalling this app because Ubersuggest does this SEO and more and has an awesome free plan and Niel Patel is awesome guy--not like this company--super dodgey people.
Get Ubersuggest, not SEO spyglass. All around bad experience leaving a metal taste in my mouth. I wonder if I can fully clean it from my computer...
This is more of a first impression. Played with the tools for an hour and not happy with it. I am not an SEO analysis expert but what makes me unhappy is everything is locked behind a paywall.
I have no idea why there is an appsumo-code for the product. I tried to use it whenever the tool asks for it but it prompts me to the webpage with pricing.
I used SpyGlass and find the tool quite useful and the UI very intuitive. It certainly finds less links than AHrefs, but still it's a good software to have, especially as it is free AppSumo deal. I like link analysis and risk evaluation, it was correct in over 80% of cases. Was very easy to mark links to sanitize and generate disavow file. What I didn't like is the following: 1. Auto installation of upgrade without asking users to approve/confirm. This is a very dangerous practice as it allows to bypass Windows 10 security. Even if you validate the original piece of software for malware and let it run, you have no idea what it downloads during the upgrade. 2. This is more about WebsiteAudit software rather than SpyGlass: they should really introduce the delays when crawling the site. Half of my links returned 503 because the bot crawling the site was making too many hits per minute and was eventually blocked by security software.
As already mentioned, it finds very few backlinks compared to the competition, and the freshness issue also leaves me somewhat perplexed. He has found me now links that I inserted in 2011, in the lost backlinks section he tells me that I have lost links that are in their place, indicating a crawl error, and also it doesn't even seem very correct on the power of the links since sites that have domain powerful autority, powerful hrefs rating his DomainInLinkRank marks me as bad. Furthermore, from what I have verified on a domain I own, it does not track 301 redirects

The metrics are all slightly different (especially, the ones indicating authority) when it comes to different tools, so you'd rather not compare those directly but get to know what exactly stands behind each and take each into account thoughtfully! It's also natural that each crawler finds a number of results the other one doesn't, and vice versa. As for the crawl error - the app doesn't report a...
used to use this in the past on paid license of this program but I stopped it since it kept getting worse every month.
Anyway I tried this one today it kept telling me I need to basically change how it works to make it work so asked some guy called Oleg about it he would not explain why it would work and had trouble answering questions so dishonestly is a common practice by this company.
So will now delete this program from my computer
