Great product, disappointed in flexibility of dev, still no Bing
I don't know if I've ever written a less than 5 star review. I normally buy products I have researched and love, and don't have many complaints. Serpstat is a deal I bought last time, and it is a wonderful product overall. I can forgive the low keyword tracking numbers because I use SE Ranking for that. The amount of data you can access is Serpstat is excellent.
I bought this time because there were two new features added. Mind you, to get these two new features, you had to purchase a second time AND accept that some things would be more limited this time around.
One BIG problem with this deal is that they lowered the monthly API limits down to 1,000 per month. Last time, it was 10,000 records per month. Why is that a problem? Because Appsumo is promoting the upcoming Reportz.io deal as being compatible with Serpstat, while they are running this new deal. But you can only return a total of 1,000 records in a month. Got 200 keywords returned in a chart? If your report updates 5 times in a day.......you're done for the month (I don't know how often Reportz updates, but it certainly updates at least once per day?). Got 3 or 4 widgets you want to sync data with Serpstat? More than one dashboard? Good luck. It won't do you much good.
That's just one example. The whole idea that you have to buy again to access new databases, while not directly affecting me, is unfortunate.
It's frustrating that the devs are so stingy with not being able to combine accounts, or stack, or anything. All I really want is the limits of the first account with the two new features from this deal. But they can't do that. Or anything. They just want to sell you a higher account, which I believe also voids your Appsumo lifetime account (it did last time, at least). Sorry, but not gonna happen. The general attitude from Eugene is very dismissive, which may or may not be intended. He has given incorrect information about competitors and seems to believe that because the product is good, they don't have to be flexible. That's fine. But it still leaves a bad taste.
Now, this is tough because I DID know most of this going in. I don't mean to be unreasonable, and I don't think Serpstat is a bad product. This is why I didn't drop the rating down below 4 tacos. But I don't think I will buy next time when they come with 5 new databases and 2 new features, just to have us buy again.
Oh, and still no Bing support?
I truly don't think, even after doing two deals, that the Serpstat reps really understand the Appsumo crowd. I'm sure my review will have zero effect because they will most likely sell every code, just like last time. But I hope they will consider a new approach. They don't have to give in to every request. Just a little more aware and open.
Serpstat is a fantastic product. I would recommend buying this deal, regardless of the above. But I wanted to note my reservations about the team and the limitations. I mean this to be constructive.

May 9, 2024Hey Brent!
Thanks for 4 tacos and such a long review :) Our team tries to take into account wishes of every Serpstat user, but not always it's so easy and fast to implement them.
