Ideally, this number should be verifiable - so that someone can check for the credential using this number. Long number that is assigned right now is really meaningless, something like: 27066. 27065, etc. would be much more meaningful as the credential numbers.
For this feature, ideally - a number of digits, and a starting number should be specified. Or even better, a custom number that could come from a learning management system. The important part - is to be able to verify the credential using this number. Or, perhaps, approach this differently - add the ability to lookup the credential based on a custom field that can be populated when the request is made - e.g., via Integrately, whichever is more convenient
