Frustrating issues and lack of listening skills
I really wanted to give Sertifier the full 5 tacos but some frustrating issues and a defensive response from the CEO has meant that we can't use this and I'll explain why. Before I do, I have to say thank you to Ege and Ceyhun who both responded professionally and helped resolve many of the issues we had.
We tried the LTD with 10 codes for our worldwide training organisation. We train teachers worldwide and up until recently, our certificate system was largely manual. I wanted to create an automated system, saw the deal for Sertifier and though, yes! That's the very thing for us.
The platform itself is great, there are a few issues with it - as expected for something in the first years of existence.
The first issues we had, which were resolved, were with the Zapier integration. We had some minor issues but the major one was with the action sets which lacked rich response information. We fed all this back to the team and they did make some great improvements.
The major turn off for us is the verification page. Even with 10 codes, the actual customisation of the page is very limited. For us there is a big issue with what the general public get to see and use on that page.
As an awarding body with accreditation from third party organisations, we have to protect the certificates that we give out as much as possible. We have a duty to protect the accreditation that we receive, our IP and the value of the awards that we give to our students.
Unfortunately, the verification page has a section in it which is visible to anyone, no matter whether you are the recipient of the certificates and badges or a member of the public who is checking the credibility of the recipient. Having that section there means that anyone can download a PDF of a certificate and click the LinkedIn button to add that credibility to their LinkedIn profile.
For us, in an industry which is working hard to tackle qualification and certificate fraud (Google it, it's a thing!), having a verification page which allows anyone to download someone else's certificate and create a credential automatically on LinkedIn is a step backwards. Yes it is possible to screenshot, yes it is possible to circumvent measures but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
I posted my feedback on the private FB group. What was meant as an explanation of our needs and frustrations was taken as criticism by the CEO. I was asked to "Please refrain from directly criticising already working structure and instead I humbly request from you to try the app with initial receivers and hear about their comments/feedback". We tested it, we had concerns and we were not prepared to send something out to our students with those concerns unaddressed. Experience has taught us this.
It's genuinely the first time I've had that reaction to feedback aimed at helping something become better and is completely different to all the other providers we have worked with, especially here on AppSumo. This one just wasn't for us.

May 9, 2024Hi Gary,
Once again I would like to propose my sincere gratitude for your detailed comments and feedback. I am honored to hear your thanks to our team members individually. As all members of our team communicate in all communication channels, and some comments sent to you via different teams belong to me; thank you again.
As a reply to this flow, I kindly request from you to add my latest comments on the FB Community group. In the same comment I left, I mentioned that if you see this feature development as a need then we shall directly place it in our roadmap. That is what we do to all feedbacks. Because all kinds of feedbacks are important at this stage, and as you mentioned this is the reason we are in AppSumo. Once again you can reach our public roadmap and sent your feature requests via https://trello.com/b/sxdOBoho/sertifier-app-roadmap
I wish we had a clearer conversation and find effective ways to collaborate and work together. Once again I would like to propose my sincere gratitude for giving us a chance and state that you are always welcome to leave feedback and suggest feature requests.
