Terrible customer support // Product has potential
Product: I've used Sessions around a dozen times with clients with meetings running 20-60 minutes. Works well in certain cases but not well in others.
1) Mobile: Kicked clients out for no reason 3 times during my usage
2) Location: Had 1 meeting with a client from Egypt. He was dropped from call 2 times during a 20-minute meeting. Had significant lag. Overall bad experience not replicated on Zoom or Google Meet.
3) Video Bug: I use Avermedia PW513 Webcam with CamEngine 4 in my meetings. It works perfectly fine on Google Meet and Zoom. Sessions.us cannot locate my webcam and it messes up my chrome so that if I try using Sessions.us and then switch to Google Meet or Zoom, it doesn't work anywhere anymore.
Customer Support:
1) One of the worst customer support team I've worked with:
I let them know about the webcam issue and they asked for: "1. Can you please send us the device setup info that you are using? (with OS and browser and everything)"
I'm not a tech-savvy individual so I asked what specific setup information they needed to which they replied "Somewhere in system information. Depends what Operating System you are using."
I let them know I'm using Windows 10 and needed specific instructions to provide the information they need to trouble shoot. No response was received.
1 week later I followed up and a new CS member replied saying:
"We are very busy investigating this type of issue. We will reach yours at some point.
From what you mentioned, your camera worked."
Honestly, it shows that they are not committed to troubleshooting issues for clients if they cannot even articulate exactly what they need and where we can find this information.
What I like About Sessions:
1) The interface is intuitive
2) The functions are quite useful such as the transcripts. I use it to create meeting summaries for clients using GPT4 (Sessions' AI summary is not great).
Overall, I think there is potential with the product but my experience with the team has been underwhelming. I don't plan on refunding because I think it still has merit but I'm not 100% sure if I will be able to completely replace Zoom from my workplace.
