What’s the origin of the idea for your product?
The idea for Sherlock was born out of frustration — not just ours, but that of dozens of hiring managers, recruiters, and founders we spoke to. As AI tools rapidly entered the hiring space, we noticed a dangerous trend: candidates using AI-generated responses, deepfake tools, and even real-time voice modifiers to cheat interviews.
We realized that traditional proctoring and ATS systems weren’t built to detect this new wave of misuse. That’s when we asked ourselves:
“How do we bring back trust in remote interviews?”
That question led to Sherlock — an AI-powered integrity layer for interviews that detects misuse of tools like Cluely, InterviewCoder, ChatGPT overlays, and more. It integrates seamlessly with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Google Calendar to turn any standard interview into a Sherlock-secured session.
We’re passionate about Sherlock because hiring is personal. A bad hire can cost a company months of progress — and a missed opportunity due to unfair practices hurts everyone involved. We believe AI should assist, not mislead, and Sherlock exists to protect fairness, transparency, and authenticity in every hiring interaction.
What problem is your product solving and how?
Sherlock solves a rising and urgent problem in hiring: misuse of AI, deepfakes, and real-time assistance tools during interviews.
Candidates are increasingly using apps like Cluely, InterviewCoder, AI overlays, and even deepfake tools to impersonate or get help during live interviews — making it hard for recruiters to trust what they see on screen. Traditional proctoring tools and ATS platforms aren't equipped to detect this.
