Q: I'm a bit confused.
In the info, it says:
ShortySMS comes with an automatically supplied private phone number
In the tier info, it says:
Bring your own number (no number provided)
Also, does this work in the US only, or can I use it in the UK?

May 14, 2024A: Hey, Joe_Dugdale. Thanks for the heads-up on this line. Re-reading it, you're right, it's confusing. Sometimes, we're too close to the copy and miss something obvious.
We DO provide a private phone number for U.S. residents — it requires an additional Empire Add-On at a discounted monthly price for Sumo-lings.
Otherwise, people can connect with their own Twilio phone numbers via integration, depending on the tier.
Glad to clarify, brian525.
The short answer: We only integrate with Twilio at this time for the largest demographic appeal. And the benefits of ShortySMS is that Twilio's backend is terrible, cumbersome, and confusing. Many people hate using it, so we offer a much better, cleaner interface to send SMS.
For more details, check out Q&A as we've talked about our decision on Twilio many times. There's a lot of great information using the search functionality in the Q&A area.
