Solid media management with thoughtful design, and the integration I was looking for
I evaluated Sigma Media Manager, and overall I'm pleased.
The file organization is what Wordpress really needs: Folders, drag-and-drop, and filtering make managing a media library easier.
The architecture is non-destructive: it organizes without disturbing WordPress's native media library, which I verified directly.
Image compression and metadata handling are valuable additions, and the compression quality is adjustable, so you can tune the balance between file size and quality to your needs rather than accept a fixed setting.
What made me want to purchase this over a respected competitor is Cloudflare integration. It's the primary reason why I chose this tool. I haven't yet tested the Cloudflare offload functionality end-to-end, so I won't claim more than I've verified. But based on how carefully the rest of the product is built, I'm giving Sigma the benefit of the doubt. Why? The small UX details are well handled, and for me that's a reliable tell. When a developer takes the time to get the little things right, I expect the larger features to be handled with the same care. If I run into issues, I'll contact the team before adjusting my review. I noticed responsiveness in communication so far, and that's a second great sign.
I'm not reviewing the automatic metadata generation, as it isn't part of my workflow.
