Review-ly
I want to give this a 3 taco rating, but hey, I'm feeling generous today - so have 4.
The UI and UX (of the overall platform, not the editor) are really well executed. Very pleasant on the eyes and the navigation between modules is easy and intuitive.
There are some great features here, like "Who Needs to Sign?" (though, not sure why Bulk Send is only visible when the menu is expanded...) because some other platforms make you jump through several hoops before ever getting to this point, so it being front and center is nice.
The separation of Documents and Templates is useful as you're not sifting through a muddle menu of active and passive items.
Now, getting into the part of why I wanted to give this 3 tacos...
The Document Editor is a mess.
First, you navigate the document with the equivalent of a loaded gun - you can't de-select a field, so wherever you click on the document...BAM! YOU JUST GOT FIELDED.
Second, the resizing of the fields is very rigid (DocDown could make a field customization masterclass...). You can only make a field as small as Signaturely believes is acceptable, such that the result can be a field that's too tall or long, bleeding into others, creating a massive mess.
Third, you can't lock date fields (this is possible in DocSketch [past LTD] and other players in this space) - so if I want someone to sign something, but not be able to modify the date, I have no way of doing so - and why is this important? Because...
Fourth, there is seemingly no way to download an audit. I can see (you can look, but you can't touch) the audit under the Activity of a given document, but I can only download or print the document, not the audit/activity as well, meaning I don't have a clear way to prove or ensure that someone is not signing a document on a different date - this is very important for healthcare professionals as far as I know.
Other notes:
-Integrations are only for cloud storage at the moment, I would like to see deep integrations with automation platforms so that we take completed documents and execute a number of actions afterwards. Or be able to take a form and fill a document based on its submitted data via field IDs and an API.
-As someone else mentioned, the first option available to someone should be draw/create a signature, especially since I have Typed disabled in my account, yet it still shows when requested a signature...
I like the deal though. This is very accessible at one code for the freelancers, and a second code makes this accessible for an organization/agency, so kudos there and a reason why I am giving this 4 tacos.
I can't drop Docsketch for this right now though, but hope I can one day very soon.
