My wife and I both have a business, not related at all. The businesses are and will always be small.
For both businesses I would like to use Vbout. What's the best tier for me? Tier2 would suffice bit can I use it for two companies or should I buy 2x tier1?

Kudos to you and your wife for running your own business. It takes patience and strength :).
If you do not care about sharing access and seeing each other data, and if you are well organized with list and campaigns names, Tier 2 is great. If you want an isolated login environment, Tier 1 x2 or Tier 3 as a mini agency would also work for an easier login and account management.
