Q: Encryption / Security

Do you have information about how files are secured? I see information on your site regarding a privacy policy, but I can't find anything about how and when the files are encrypted. Also, where are the files stored? If I'm in the USA, can I choose servers in the USA? I work in financial services, and my compliance department will need to review it.

A: You're correct we need to add a dedicated Security Section, but here is a direct breakdown of how we protect your data, which you can pass along to your compliance department:

🔒 Encryption (In Transit & At Rest)
In Transit: All data moving between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS 1.2 / TLS 1.3 protocols. This ensures that files cannot be intercepted or tampered with during upload or download.

At Rest: Once your files reach our storage infrastructure, they are instantly encrypted using AES-256 bit encryption (the global gold standard for banking and military data protection). The files remain fully encrypted until they are either purged or downloaded by the authorized recipient with the link or with a password protected link.

🌍 Data Residency & Storage Locations
Where files are stored: Sinosend operates on a highly secure enterprise infrastructure. Read more about the 8 locations here:

https://sinosend.com/product/data-residency

Data Residency On-Demand: We offer complete flexibility regarding where your data lives. Unlike rigid platforms that lock your entire account into one location, Sinosend allows you to select your data residency "on-the-fly" for each individual transfer. You can dynamically choose exactly which regional endpoint securely processes and stores that specific batch of files based on your recipient's compliance requirements. Or set a default region and forget it.

USA Regional Selection: Since you are in financial services and subject to strict data sovereignty compliance, yes, you can isolate your storage. We have dedicated secure data centers in the United States (Virginia and Silicon Valley nodes). You can configure your account settings so that your transfers stay entirely within US jurisdiction, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Password protect each transfer with expiry dates.

if your compliance department asks about E2E, we are not an E2E platform—we don't encrypt at the source device, but rather secure the data instantly in transit via TLS 1.3 and at rest using server-side AES-256 encryption.

Rishi, my compliance team was thrilled by what you supplied! They say, "their security measures seem to be dialed in, and the link you provided me was very detailed regarding their data/privacy policies, etc."

Good to hear!
