Q: Transfer Speed
I'm wondering what upload and download speed we should roughly expect with Sinosend.
I'm on 1Gbps symmetrical fiber at my location.
I did a 47.7GB upload yesterday and and it took about 3.65 hours to upload which seems to come out to about 30Mbps
I was originally uploading via Firefox but that seemed even slower so I switched to Chrome and the speed seemed to improve somewhat to that 30Mbps number.
Just downloaded a 1.7GB file and took jut under 30 minutes so looks like the download speed is around 7.5Mbps.
Wondering if these are the expected speeds or if they'll improve and if so what the timeline would be?
On a side note the interface is good.

Edited Dec 4, 2024A: Hi Eric.
Our origin server is located in Hong Kong so that speed sounds about correct. The closer you are to the origin server the faster the speed will likely be, there are ofcourse a lot of variables, but we've seen speeds of up to 150Mbps second upload which is hard to get even when you upload to dropbox or weTransfer. That 50GB file you sent, thats great, the main thing is it didn't drop connection, which does happen with other services.
As we continue our launch we do anticipate to do a number of things that will likely improve our upload speed, that is:
- Improve parallel uploading of files, compression etc.
- Adding global CDN edge servers, enabling faster download for subsequent request (launching this week, still in testing phase)
- Add EU Server in Germany and possibly one in the US, this will give you a choice of where you want your data to be stored.
- We're a small company, but I guess you figured that out already :) and we're competing against the big boys who charge well a lot more than us. Our priority is to keep our costs lean and maintain a high standard of service and security. Our main priority for now is to store your files and share them safely, not necessarily to have the fastest upload and download speeds.
To set expectations, we're not a streaming platform, but a business to business document/image/short video sharing service with perks.
We don't have a timeline for infrastructure improvements right now, but thats not to say were ignoring it. Thanks for the interface feedback, some have said otherwise, but we're improving weekly.

Thanks Rishi! For the price it's amazing! The upload speed doesn't really both me, I'm fine letting stuff upload over night.
From someone on the receiving end of the file I'd say it's probably too slow for anything over a GB, but I understand bandwidth is a reoccurring cost on your end so I don't fault you. I'm probably not your target audience. Lots of potential though, and incredible value!
