Webstarts vs Sitejet vs Plesk (wordpress)

I am a solo IT consultant, with a very small client base but above average service and the prices and happy customers to boot.

I have been using WordPress to manage and host all my projects so far.

I recently tried webstarts to find it was system too simple and only good for quick simple and informational style websites. After using it for a while on the last AppSumo deal, I decided to keep it as my lowest tier Web Dev options.

After that experience, I was on the fence about SiteJet and had taken instead the 14-day trial route first.

During my trial experience, there was a learning curve for their CMS, especially for dynamically generated content like blogs and collections* - basically their version of mini plugin templates.

I have only trialed the product for myself, haven't used it in a real client situation. So far my thoughts are:

Pros:
1) Content and Client interface is great. You can make any aspect of the website or template editable on demand for your client.
2) Good selection of Templates
3) Decent customizability for mix and match and custom HTML
4)Elfsight plugin support

Cons:
1) e-commerce ecwid - a native e-commerce solution would be better, I still like using WooCommerce and have very good plugins for that still like afterpay and applepay etc.
2) cannot get some popular gTLD through them yet, or even my native .com.au
3) limited 3-rd party integrations outside of elfsight

All in all, I ended up just going all out and getting Tier 5.
Its got potential and I client alone will pay for the purchase price. Hoping this becomes a time saver and workflow multiplier. Especially with the 10 seats, I can outsource for WEb Dev.

If they keep up with mobile and speed optimized templates and integrations (to compete with mobile web apps). This is definitely an exciting and very functional all-in-one Web dev platform I can see this is a great offering for the price.

It nestles in my mid-tier offering, with WP still being the full bespoke solution for building and integrations support.

I'm excited to push this out to my first customers and will have specific customer feedback vs WordPress once I do.

Hi maxz2040,

thank you so so much for taking the time to write this awesome review! 🙌

It seems like you have had your fair share of website builders' experience so far, so we are happy to hear that you decided to join the Sitejetters family.

We are definitely working on improving Sitejet on a daily basis to make sure that it keeps evolving and being that all-in-one tool.

We are looking forward to your experience using Sitejet with clients!

Again, thanks so much for your words, time and tacos - we really appreciate it🙏
