I am a digital marketing professional with 20+ years experience, I have been around the SAAS space for the past decade. I have had previous success teaching online, with my top course having over 6K students from 192 countries. I feel this positions me well to provide a review.

Back in the day 2017/2018 - I used to buy frequently on Appsumo but over the years, I did not see much that caught my eye. These days most things can be self built using AI + Automations. However Skillplate stood out to me like a glistening diamond.

As soon as I hit the landing page I realized it was the founder from Masters Academy, I have previously bought a few of their courses and as such know that he has a masterful understanding of business, marketing and the tech landscape. Although I still need to revisit the courses, one thing I remembered was how detailed the content was and how amazing the UI was.

So based on who was behind it was bought in immediately - I setup a demo account and had a play around, I was highly impressed with the UI and the fact that everything seem to be working out of the box. A polished an refined product from day 1.

As someone who lives in this space, I found it very intuitive and easy to use. This means it lives up to its ease of of use claim. This instantly increases the value as it means I can quickly implement and focus on iterating my offers, focus on my marketing, product creation, client meetings rather than setting up the platform.

The founder has always been responsive, when I had any questions about Masters Academy - he was always quick and helpful. When I was asking questions in my demo Skillplate account he was there instantly - a massive plus. I can see that he is reliable and consistent over the years.

I also commend the deal structure - the commission is fine with me, I am happy the founder will make money and the platform will be sustainable, it means I can fully invest without worrying about needing to shift to another platform in future.

There is a lot to learn but for me this was the perfect deal and I am implementing immediately.

When I first came across Skillplate, it seemed too good to be true...

A kajabi alternative that would free me from spending $3400 AUD on my subscription next year?

That had a delightful, intuitive UI, great looking websites (with super easy website builder) and made it EASY to upload my courses and design my students' experience?

Surely not?!?!?

But it wasn't too good to be true!

I'm thrilled with the product so far and highly recommend.

One of the reasons that helped me make my decisions was the founder's responsiveness to Qs here in Appsumo. It gives me confidence that the features to come down the pipeline WILL come (I can't wait for a mobile app version).

I'm skeptical of "easy setup" claims. Usually means "easy compared to building from scratch" which... isn't saying much.

But I actually got a membership site live in about 15 minutes. No tutorials, no documentation—just poking around the interface and watching things fall into place.

The templates are genuinely good-looking too. Not "acceptable for what it is" but actually designed well. That matters when you're asking people to pay for access to something.

If you've been putting off a membership site because the tech felt like too much hassle, this removes that excuse pretty effectively.

I’ve been a fan of AppSumo for years and a Plus member for over two years. I build and test across AI, content creation, course development, and digital products and this platform, especially at the Tier 5 lifetime deal with the commission free add on, is a no brainer.

Even without a roadmap (which they do have and it’s promising), the lifetime value easily beats ongoing monthly subscriptions. The only features currently missing but I’m confident they’re coming are email sequences and abandoned cart automation. I’ve already contacted the team about a custom webhook and they responded right away, confirming it will be built by the end of the week.

Are all Sumo deals great? No. But this one is. I purchased the highest tier because I see the vision behind the company and even in its current state, the functionality justifies the investment.
