Q: CSV/EXCEL import feature support in the future?

You mentioned that CSV /excel import is not supported. Are there any plans to add support? For me, importing data from another tool into yours requires a CSV or Excel feature. My current finance tool, can only export data as CSV/excel . So if I move over to using your tool I would need that feature otherwise I cant use your tool :(

A: One of the key ideas behind Smart Clerk is to avoid using CSV file formats and the need to adjust columns to match required specifications. Our approach emphasizes a drag-and-drop simplicity for bank statements.

In the future, once we implement direct bank integration, importing transactions may become more straightforward. However, at this time, Smart Clerk does not require users to handle CSV files or adjust formats and columns.

Agreed CSV Import and Export is crucial. CSV is also so much more accurate then parsing a PDF statement from a random bank

The "drag and drop" statement doesn't make sense to me. It's just as simple to drag and drop a CSV file as a PDF file. I get the PDF parsing is a unique selling point and I LOVE it, but the resistance to a standard file type blows my mind.

I would suggest that you add the option for us to upload transactions not only from pdf but also from csv/excel as some tools dont have a pdf exporter option so we cannot import pdf's also csv/excel will likely be more accurate when your ai reads it vs a pdf document

Can't you guys just convert CSV to PDF in a minute with any AI? Yes they should totally accept CSV and it is insane that they don't but is it a real blocker?

I imagine they wanted actual PDF bank statements. but if it works to just print from Excel to PDF and then import it that would work too.

i imagine its their way of controlling (the amount of banks, the number of years) which would be a harder with CSV. but yes not a good artificial limit
