Worked great on first use!
I've been on the lookout for an AI-driven, LTD solution for my small business accounting, so I was psyched to see this show up on AppSumo. I'm an independent contractor and my finances are pretty straightforward; can't speak to Smart Clerk's functionality for a more complex accounting picture. However, it seems to fit the bill quite well for me on first use. While I'd hoped to find the app capable of directly importing my bank records (e.g., via Plaid's integration), I do see that functionality is up next in their dev roadmap. Currently, users have to manually upload PDF records, which is easy enough to do in the meantime. All in all, it took me less than 2 hours to (1) batch upload bank statements and invoices from the past couple years, (2) manually edit a small handful of auto-generated categories for certain transactions so that the account was accurate, and (3) generate P&L reports. As far as I can tell, it's performed this flawlessly. I would perhaps hope to see some other financial reports available in the future, but that might go beyond the scope of this app (venturing into finance vs. accounting). I may have additional thoughts after continuing to use this tool for some time, but I'm pretty happy with what I've seen so far. The UX is simple and easy to follow (didn't have to look at any documentation to use all its features). Giving it all the tacos for now. 🙂

We focused on a clean UX with no setup and no getting lost in hundreds of features and menu items. It seems we've made good progress toward that goal.
The one thing we didn't predict correctly was that we assumed people would have PDF statements in their hands and need help processing them. However, it appears that users have already gotten used to connecting their bank accounts to third-party systems and working on their data. We're working hard to make the process even smoother, and until then, your review has made us very happy and proud.
