Q: I have a personality type assessment that has 12 categories.

(It is an archetypes quiz)
As the person goes through the questions the score for each archetype gets added to according to the answers and at the end the person needs to know their primary and secondary archetype.

So the result of the quiz is not simply to put someone in a single winning category and indeed, it is possible to get a tie (or multiple ties).

At the end they need the scores for all 12 archetypes. I have done this using a quiz software that allows you to define a number of variables and add to them as you go along.

Can you do this?

Then, they also need to apply a tie-breaker question.
Would that also be possible?

It would be amazing to have something that does this elegantly

Thanks

A: Hi cathy_simmons,

Yes, you can do this using SQB.

You can show them not just their score in each archetype, but you can break it down further using sub-scores within a category / archetype. We've advanced category calculations.

If you watch this video, you'll see how to do this:
https://youtu.be/76fz6Jtu37Q

You'll find a demo here:
https://smartquizbuilder.com/demo/take-our-free-personality-quiz-and-see-where-you-rank-for-the-big-5-traits/

This is a scoring quiz with matrix-style questions, but you can use single choice / multiple choice, slider etc.

Sorry, can't do tie-breaker question.

Hope this helps.

Fabulous, thank you. I think the tie-breaker will be the biggest challenge.
If there is a tie. would I be able to display a video where I explain how to resolve it?
That would be super cool!

Hi cathy_simmons,

Not possible currently and also not easy-to-implement. So I don't see us doing this anytime soon as there is really no demand for this.

Don't want to make promises we can't keep :-)

Thank you. I’ve been watching the video.

For each question in my personality quiz, they rate their answer by choosing a number on a scale of 1-5. (How strongly they agree with the statement)

That score then gets added to the personality type (archetype) overall score.

So for each question you are not adding one point to different personality types, you are adding up to 5 points according to one of the personality tyoea according to their answer.

So, for question 1, for example, they may answer ā€˜agree’. You then add 4 to the value of Archetype A. If they answered ā€˜strongly agree, you would add 5 to the value of Archetype A.

For question 2 they answer ā€˜strongly disagree’ so you add 1 to Archetype B etc.

Each archetype has 10 questions that contribute to the total number for that archetype.
So that’s 120 questions in total.
(They are grouped by page, which I realise you can’t do yet, but that’s not a show-stopper).

Hard to explain but it’s not as complex as it sounds!
If you can do this, then I will be very happy!

The tie-breaker I will handle as I do now.
As long as they can see all 13 scores, I tell them how to resolve the tie in text next to their answers and in a video with their first email.

Hi cathy_simmons,

SQB's personality quiz also supports "weighted answers". You can assign points to each answer choice and SQB will assign those points to the connected outcome, instead of the default 1 point. So at the end, whichever outcome has the most points is their type but you can also show rank 2, rank3, etc. with different descriptions on that outcome screen.

Does this help?
