Q: I want to raise this message for the AppSumo community more than the company as reviews are no longer enabled.
I wrote a negative review because I felt that the claims were misleading about the functionality and I gave the software 1 taco. To their credit, the company contacted me immediately and arranged a video call to apologize and explain the situation. They are amending the wording about what is currently available and what is in the pipeline and they have even shown me the backoffice development of the course section of that platform, so I have seen that it is indeed being developed. I had asked for a refund because I lost trust, but having spoken with 3 of them on a video call, I do have complete faith in the integrity of the guys working at Socially and I hope their offer will be up and running again soon. It looks like there are some very exciting things in the pipeline and I commend them for being so proactive in the face of negative feedback, that, for me, is much more important than whether or not everything was right in the first place. I would now most definitely recommend Socially because of the way they handle challenging feedback as it is very clear that they do want to put things right and deliver the best product they can.
Thanks for your honest review and feedback of your experience. Very helpful
I have also communicated with them, it will be available in 2 weeks and please try to remove your review or change it, this is a really good team and I want to reach the maximum level, right now I am at level 1 but it is impressive, this product will change the way social media is approached and will only get better in the future, I am truly confident in its success, you all have figured it out for yourselves. Why put the brakes on their success?
I can even insert my logo in the form of a gif in the upper left part, a small thing but very impressive when profissional approach to this
Actually it is not possible to remove a review once you have had a refund, which I have. However, I do not think it would be honest to remove a review that was truthful no matter how much 'potential' a business has. As a regular user of AppSumo I don't just want to see reviews about how fantastic something is, I find it more useful to see how they respond to challenging feedback, which is why I wrote such a lengthy response and addressed it to the community, even though I was unable to amend or re-write my review. I wrote the truth, firstly to say I was not happy then secondly to say how impressed I was with the way they have dealt with that. Like you, I definitely want them to succeed, but I won't mislead anyone just because the world only wants positive reviews for everything these days. You can't have the credit if you can't accept the criticism so if you don't like that then get AI to write fake reviews... but don't ask me to remove my honest opinion when I have been fair in giving both criticism and credit where it is due.
I understand and support your choice, but it's important to realize that it can also cause harm. When someone wants to deceive, that's one thing, but when someone tries to make a product better, that's another. I'm not judging you; it's your choice. I just think that you didn't consider all the aspects when you made it.
