Q: Some Questions from a non-tech guy.

Looks like a good product. I have some questions from someone who uses AI a lot but is not so technical in understanding a lot of these things.

1) I use all the different LLMs a lot every day for various reasons. Could you explain what would be the benefits of socrates over others - Claude, OpenAI and Google AI Studio with its 2 million context window.

2) Is this mainly for documents with complex terms like legal, contracts or other documents? I use it for more ideas, concepts - social science and humanities, current affairs, religion, psychology, etc. Books, YouTube podcasts, etc. How would Socrates benefit me - as compared to me using the other LLMs?

3) Are there other ways to use the Table AI and compare and contrast - based on my requirements above, I'm not sure if I would need the compare/contrast part.

A: 1) Hello, see this blog post comparing Socrates to NotebookLM: https://asksocrates.app/blog/socrates-vs-notebooklm-best-pdf-summarization-tool-for-long-documents. What we've found is that others simply don't do the best job at returning comprehensive answers for longer documents. There's a lot of work involved in ensuring the correct context is being fed to the LLM at exactly the right time. We use our proprietary techniques (e.g., Deep Dive is just one of them) to do this. I'd encourage you to try others and compare the results with ours.

2) It's for all documents: short, long, complex, simple, and any subject matter. Off the shelf AIs are already really good at analyzing shorter documents, so I'd say we are on par there, but we offer UIs like the actual PDF + Table AI that may be useful.

We excel at analyzing longer documents, though, due to the context enriching techniques I mentioned above.

3) You can Table AI for Automated report generation - extracting specific data points, assign scores based on how well they answer specific questions, or do concept searches across documents.

4) Most Macs and PCs can use this. Local AI requires a powerful computer though for reasonable speeds. The main difference is, in Local AI, no files leave your computer and you're using Local LLMs. We are enabling Deep Dive in Local AI soon.

5) We use RAG and vectorization, but all you need to know is that there are a million ways to implement it, and we found a way that I believe, and other reviewers have commented on, that is superior to many others out there.

For the non-technical person, we are different simply because we provide higher quality responses, especially for longer documents :D. You'll have to just try us and them out to believe it.

6) Deep Dive processes the document in new formats that enables the AI to find MORE answers than without Deep Dives. With more answer possibilites, you tend to get a better repsonse.

7) Prompt Loops allow you to apply prompts over "sections" of the document. Right now, our sections are automatically determined and focus on headings of the document. This works best with clearly demarcated files, but we're constantly improving this.

8) I'm not sure how others do it online, but we use Google Cloud's OCR, which is state of the art.

4) Can any computer use it locally? And is it easy to do so - I'm not a tech guy. And what would be the benefits of using it online vs locally? One thing I guess is the different LLM being used - OpenAI online vs LLama locally. Other differences? I'm assuming since different LLMs are used the results would differ too.

5) Could you tell us in simple terms what makes using your program differ from using one of those LLMs online? I've heard of RAG and Vectorization but I don't understand all that are the differences and what would be the benefit of purchasing your program - whether I need it or not.

6) In a previous response you mentioned using Deep Dives would allow me to get a better summary than not having DD enabled. So what difference do both of these: [a) non deep dive enabled, b) deep dive enabled] have over say other LLMs.

7) What are Prompt Loops?

8) Is your OCR going to be better than those available freely online? Or is it just like others available online?

Thanks!
