An Exciting Alternative to Audible for Audio Books
I’ve recorded and produced a total of 45 audio books through both the Audiobook Creation Exchange (ACX) and publishers such as Random House. Those titles have all been produced for Audible. And when comparing ACX/Audible with SoundWise, the latter is a no-brainer.
Audible collects 80% of the sale proceeds, sets the price for a production, and only says that a unit was sold. It surely doesn’t tell you to whom it sold, or provide the purchaser’s e-mail! SoundWise, on the other hand, takes 10% of the sale (on the lowest tier membership level), let’s the production owner set the price, and then provides an e-mail so you can follow up when you have additional productions that might interest existing purchasers.
I believe SoundWise will prove to be a great place to distribute audio books, especially those produced as derivative works from the thousands of excellent public domain books that are available as source material. It’s obviously a successful and productive platform for online courses; it will be an excellent alternative to the 800-pound gorilla in the audiobook marketplace called Audible!
I've tried a few online course platforms, including Soundwise. I've moved around multiple times trying to figure out the best way to deliver courses both free and paid. I've even used plugins on my website for at the least free courses. Bottom line, I am a podcaster who primarily offers audio courses. SoundWise was the very first platform to offer a place for podcasters to sell their audio courses, their audiobooks and of course our premium podcasts all while allowing us to also have our free podcasts listed.
Since I have moved around I decided to come back to Soundwise because they offer the most secure platform for audio creators during a time when security is really needed. More and more people are now opting for a way to consume content and learn on the go. SoundWise offers the perfect solution for both the content creators and the content consumers. In addition, the variety of ways you can deliver your content here (even on the Starter Plan) is diverse and very affordable! Bundles, subscriptions, rentals, individual courses ALL can be offered here for an excellent price with great service. That's a hard combination to beat. PLUS the Founder, Natasha is a content creator herself so she knows the needs of those creating the content.
Excellent offer, service and platform all in one - you can't beat this. I've looked, a lot and tried several and truly nothing beats what they are offering. PLUS you get your own place to communicate with those who purchase your courses, audiobooks or premium podcast content. You can actually create a thriving community for your content right within the app. It's really a win/win all the way around. I'm glad I came back to SoundWise and I have no intention of leaving again, they've really upped the game here!
