Q: Assignment / Releasing of Codes ...

I understand that the acquired codes can be stacked on one's main account to provide team members with seats for external access. I also understand that seats already assigned to team members can be released again if necessary.

Question:
Let's assume I assign an employee, who is tasked with independent project controlling, their own main account, using one of our codes for this purpose. Can I then, if necessary, have the code used for this main account released and use it elsewhere (for a seat or another main account) within the company?

A: Hi,

This depends a bit on the setup:

1. You create a linked subaccount where you are the owner, and invite your employee there. They'll have member-level privileges (which allow most things under the account). In this case if the employee is removed, only you'll remain in that account and the seat is released.

2. You let your employee create a completely separate account and let them redeem one of your codes. In this scenario you are not the owner in the system's eyes and cannot control the account or release it. But even in this case we can do the release via support if you provide the proof of the AppSumo code's ownership.

If possible, I recommend the first option.

Best,
Antti

About the 2nd option:

If the account is permanently deleted using the app function "Delete Account", will the code redeemed during account creation be not automatically released?
